Why We Like The Kaweah Short

While some bike clothing companies require you to pick form or function, the designers at Wild Rye are opposed to making you compromise, and it's clear the first time you get your hands on the Kaweah Short. These breathable shorts are built from polyester, and designed to wick away the sweat, while moving with you on the bike. They feature just enough elastane to give you some gentle stretch, making sure your shorts don't hold you up when it's time to get over the back wheel on a steep and wild descent. And they don't stop there — wildflower-inspired and mountain-town Milky Way Constellation prints liven up your kit with a refreshing hit of style that stands out against other shorts, while performing hard on the trail. The shorts are finished off with all the bells and whistles that you appreciate on the trail, like deep pockets to keep your gadgets safe, a gusseted crotch for a boost in mobility, UPF protection from harsh rays, and finally, the ever-welcome DWR coating that sheds showers and mud when you're caught in a downpour at the top of a ridgeline.

Great Pocket!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Love these shorts. Super durable and the pocket fits my giant phone! I find that they run a little small. I'm 5'3, 135# and the 6 fits me great!

Weird sizing

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I emailed the website and they recommend I go with my normal size, but I read that they ran small, so I ordered a 10. It was comfy in the legs and glutes, but really big in the hips. Would have had to wear a belt. So, I figured maybe I should have gotten the 8. I ordered it and it was too tight to be comfortable mountain biking, in both the hips and everything else. Maybe these would work well a straighter body type? I am 5'11", 145 lbs, but have a narrow waist and wider hips.

I wanted to really like these! RUNS SMALL. I have both size 6 and size 8 in Shredly but almost never wear the size 8 because it feels too big. i ordered these in a size 6 and they are much tighter and smaller than Shredly, especially around the booty. Wanted to exchange, but they dont have the size 8 anymore so i just have to return :(

Disappointed

Familiarity:

I love my wild rye "the freel" shorts, but the fit of these were completely different. The material is less stretchy as well. I purchased a size 4 in the freel and they are almost a size too big. Ordered a size 2 in these and they were way too snug. I think next time I'll stick with the freel and just size down.

Poor fit

Familiarity:

I love the patterns and material but gosh why is it impossible to find a good fitting bike short for women? These are a great fit around my waist but really snug and stretched in the hips, butt, and thighs. I?m a 4-6/27 in street clothes and the 8 in these was too tight. The 10 would have been way too big on the waist. Their freel shorts fit the same, couldn?t even tell the difference.
