Why We Like The Vans UltraRange Exo Hi MTE-1 Shoe
The Ultrarange EXO HI MTE-1 Shoe proves that not all winter footwear has to be big and clunky. These low-profile sneakers balance comfort and coverage to keep our feet comfortable throughout the day. The Hydroguard upper wraps around the midsole to fight off moisture so our socks stay dry. Meanwhile, the Primaloft insulation keeps our toes warm all winter.

Vans for the Winter
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
These Vans look very cool and are very warm, however, they run a bit small and narrow; my suggestion would be to get the next size up or a half size up.

Bizarre lumps in toe box hurt
The inside of the toe box is lumpy and hard, pushing into the top of my smaller toes, causing immediate discomfort, fits fine otherwise. Its probably a defect, but maybe they're all like this. I wouldn't waste time on these shoes

Great looking shoe but not true to size
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
This shoe looks great and feels well made, but I'm returning mine as the toe box is way too tight even with thin socks on. If you're looking to wear these in cold weather with midweight socks for warmth, I'd say order at least a half size up (maybe even a full size).

Amazing and a great buy
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These shoes are fantastic. I needed something for wearing with jeans that has solid traction for work (I'm in roofing) as well as in the rain and in slick conditions. The MTE-1 outsole is aggressive without becoming a trip hazard, and they are warm without roasting your feet. As far as eye candy, they're incredibly good looking and can be worn with most outfits and don't look out of place. Regarding the feel of them, they're very secure and tightness is easily adjusted with the laces. They don't bind in any area along the laces, and the higher top keeps them under your pant legs. The all-black with the gum colored sole makes these very versatile, and I'm now looking at a low top one for wear with shorts. Highly recommend!!

Look awesome, Feel awesome
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The black with white thread look VERY sharp, much better in person. These remind me of my old nike 6s, but even better, with a cleaner design and sharper contrast, and vans style. They were awesome and dry on a rainy windy florida day. SIZE: got these in 10. They are a little tight around the top front of the foot. For reference, I comfortably wear a 9.5 in vans Era Pro skate, and the standard vans slip-on in 10 is almost too loose on me. if I would have gotten a 10.5 in these, it would have been the equivalent feel of the era pro size 9.5. I normally wear 9.5/10 in vans, these you need to size up half a size.

Super disappointed
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
These are NOT green. Bought them as a gift in the grape leaf and they look nothing like the photo! The stock photo is an obvious bright olive green - but in real life they're more like a green-tinged bluish-black. There's no way these shoes are passing off as green to anyone who buys them. Plus, the suede is cut super sloppy with uneven trim and sections where the inner felt lining sticks out past where the leather should have been sewn. I don't see how these could possibly have passed quality control - it's just sad. The sizing was as expected but they look so cheap it's not even worth the comfort. Returning ASAP.

We're always happy with our Vans. The Ultrarange Exo HI MTE-1 is no exception. I've hiked, lifted, and walked all day in them and they're great. Sturdy, stylish, and super comfy.
