Why We Like The Wilderness Snowshoe
The Tubbs Women's Wilderness Snowshoe was built for putting fresh trails through snow-covered hills and blanketed forests. A lightweight deck increases float through powder as you make your own path through the woods and a convenient heel riser helps reduce fatigue when you're climbing up steep hills en route to scenic vistas. And when all that powder turns to an icy trail, the Wilderness' toe crampon and side rails ensure you remain upright and secure across variable snow conditions.

Wonderful!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These are replacements for snowshoes I'd been using for decades that were my grandfather's. After developing hip pain and doing some research about women's snowshoes, I realized my old ones were WAY too big. These new ones allow me to walk with a nearly normal gait, rather than the wide, spraddled gait the old ones required (they were 12.5 in wide & 48 in long!). PLUS, these have a binding design that is easy to put on and take off. A simple pull on the toe strap tightens that part, and the heel strap is nearly as simple. Because they're not as big as the old ones, they sink into soft snow more, but the other benefits more than make up for that. I also love the crampons on the bottom. I used to slide down hills or sideways, but no more! I feel very stable with these snowshoes. For reference, I'm nearly 70, about 132 lbs, 5'4"

So far these have been great to use up in the mountains Snow Shoeing. I like how light they are and they are pretty comfortable.
