Unique but well executed ski mid layer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unique design but highly functional. The torso is a combination of down feathers and synthetic insulation, while the arms and hood are an uninsulated, stretchy soft-shell like material. Consider it a vest alternative more than a traditional mid layer jacket. I wear the Summit Future Fleece Crew under and it's very warm, but highly breathable and very mobile feeling. The down portion is rows of insulation with deep channels in-between so moisture can escape and air can circulate. Because the hood is uninsulated it takes up no space, so zipping up your hard shell is a breeze and requires no nesting technique. All around, this is a quirky but highly functional piece. Great for touring or high energy resort days in cold weather. You'll want a heavy base layer or medium fleece under or your arms will freeze. This is NOT a casual around the town piece. It's definitely intended for technical use. My system: 1 - TNF Future Fleece Crewneck 2 - TNF Steep 50/50 3 - TNF Futurelight Hardshell

Looks awesome. Get the Castle View I you want warm arms thou
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty legit. But this should be categorized like an under layer. Got this with the brigandine futurelight and I'm only good for like 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This does look better than the Castle View but if you're looking for warmth this ain't it. But if you're looking for a good-looking light sweater that's a little water resistant this is it.

Favorite mid layer for Snowboarding
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my favorite mud layer of all time. It's extremely breathable and warm where it's needed. the arms have no insulation so it makes it great for Skinning up in. Not too hot but still warm since the chest and back have the 800 fill insulation. It's perfect. Arms stay cool chest stays warm. If you want more insulation in the arms go with the summit series. But for what I use it for. This is my go to jacket.

My favorite mid layer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best mid layer I've ever put on. So breathable, never overheat and if I added an extra layer and end up sweating this jacket pulls the moisture out and keeps me cooler than I would with any tiger midlayer. Very comfortable as well. Love the stretch material

High end mid layer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Designed as a mid layer for insulation. Not really a stand alone jacket

Wouldn't buy this again under any circumstances
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I returned this jacket almost immediately after unboxing it. For the price, I wasn't expecting materials as thin as a dress shirt, with a few double layers sprinkled throughout the coat. In my opinion the price was too high. No matter what kind of technology is being pushed, I simply did not trust the material to protect against the blistering cold Temps we often face in the winter months, so it went back.

Very versatile! Breathable, warm, so good.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 50/50 Down Jacket has exceeded my expectations through and through. I wanted this primarily to use as a warm mid layer under my shell for snowboarding at the resort and it works great for that application. My surprise though, is I've also used this splitboarding and the breathability is very, very good! It's a very versatile jacket with a great fit.

Comfy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is so comfortable. I haven't used it to ski with but I use it daily when I am walking around. Can't wait to try it out for spring skiing.
