Why We Like The Trailblazer MIPS Helmet

Sweet Protection's Trailblazer MIPS Helmet leads the pack in protection performance so we can feel safe and secure when we're sending it on new trails and technical terrain. The MIPS Brain Protection System reduces rotational movement with a helmet-integrated, low-friction layer, but the helmet's strength comes from its 4-piece variable shell construction. This helmet hosts similar features to the Bushwhacker, but with a new visor placement and a progressive design.

For Tiny Heads Only

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

After a recent crash, I was determined to buy the best helmet I could afford. After visiting the Virginia Tech site, I settled on the Trailblazer due to its 5 star rating. Unfortunately, it does not fit. Yes, I’ve got a large dome, but Smith helmets fit me extremely well with plenty of room for adjustment. With the Trailblazer, the helmet barely fit over my head, and this is with the adjustment knob cranked all the way open. I tried the slimmer pads that are included and got pretty much the same result. I know I’m not the only one with this issue because I noticed others made similar comments. If you’ve got a large skull or just a fat head, bear this in mind prior to purchase.

Your next helmet

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I’m loving my new helmet. The size seems right on. It sits comfortably snug on my head and doesn’t require me to crank the retention system for it to feel secure and stable. It is highly vented and the sweat pads do an absolutely amazing job of funneling any excess/dripping sweat to the sides of my face so sweat doesn’t drip into my glasses and interfere with my vision. The front vents are set up great to allow sunglasses to sit in the helmet when you don’t want to wear them. If you’re looking for a super comfortable, highly thought out and well designed helmet that looks sharp and offers amazing protection, this should be your top choice!
