Why We Like The SRAM Post Mount Brake Adapter

We’ve been there with you, trying to up our game on the descents just to find we need bigger brake rotors to make it happen. Whether we need to go from a 160mm to a 180mm or a 200mm to 220mm rotor these post-mount adapters will work with any post-mount caliper front or rear and include all the mounting hardware to install them. These adapters from SRAM even come pre-coated with a blue thread locker so our brakes don’t rattle loose down the next black-diamond send.

Not the right part

Post noir did not fit as noted. I at least got some bolts out of it.

Simple and effective

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I switched wheels out on my bike that required larger rotor adapters, and these were great because I got to use the oil slick bolts that came with them and they match the hardware on the G2 ultimate calipers.

can be tough to determine which one

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

The adapters work great once you get them and the right bolts for your application. I was going from 200 to 220 on a fox 36 so needed the 40mm adapter. Adapter is perfect but only comes with one set of bolts - in this scenario the new setup requires 4 bolts and the 2 that came with the bike are way too long since the new adapter is offset. I got a local bike shop to give me a couple but it would be nice to know what’s needed upfront.

Outdated.

Not for current Sram brakes. Picture is misleading. Adapter at the bottom on the picture is not included. Just washers and spacers. I requested help from SRAM support. Here is an answer. "The right adapter for your use would be 00.5318.007.004. If you are using the current Level Ult. you won't need the washers beneath the caliper as it is a non cps caliper." According to few people you also can use Shimano 20P adapter and it is 2x cheaper then Sram.

No Instructions

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I went to a bike shop to plan ahead for when I got my 180mm rotors and new brakes to avoid delays. We couldn?t find instructions so we took apart another bike to see how they had the washers. Still didn?t get the spacers right and found helpful info posted by other reviewers. On my bike I needed the 12.5 and 7.5 mm spacers to go from 160mm to 180mm rotors. Backcountry knew about this already so I?m giving 5 stars to reviewers and 1 star the them for not providing the info (see Samual Mason?s post and link below). I spent a lot of time on this and it should have taken less than 5 minutes.
