Why We Like The PG-1170 Cassette
The SRAM PG-1170 Cassette provides smooth shifting across 11 gears with its semi-spidered steel cogs. Ideally pairing with SRAM's Force 22 groupset, the PG-1170 cassette features a 16T cog for extra cadence control and delightfully smooth shifting when you're hovering around the middle block of the cassette. X-Glide shifting technology eliminates flex between the teeth to enhance shifting smoothness, especially on downshifts. Note that SRAM recommends pairing this cassette with its PC-1170 chain for flawless shifting. Moreover, it's only compatible with 11-speed hub/freehub bodies, and it includes an anodized, laser-etched aluminum lockring.

SRAM + Backcountry = RAD!!!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I know the other guys make good cassettes (and great fishing poles too!?!), but I?m a SRAM guy, and always will be! The PG-1170 11-36 is the perfect pie-plate for the long steep climbs around my house, and getting it quick from Backcountry at a good price is all a middle aged man in lycra can ask for. Amateur Tip: This 11-36 cassette paired with a Wolftooth Roadlink may not impress the mechanics at your LBS, but they will pair up just fine with pretty much any setup you?ve got to give you the mechanical advantage you need to make your local suckfest climb suck just a little bit less.

I just built up a Surly Midnight Special with this cassette and have put some long rough miles on it . From paved roads to double and single track trails and some off road neglected trails and no complaints it has gotten me where I have been going , trouble Free! What more can you ask for :)
