Why We Like The Edgewood Wrap Sweater

After riding first chair to last at our favorite resort, we swap our cozy baselayers for the Edgewood Wrap Sweater. Naturally, merino wool manages pesky moisture and odors, so we feel comfortable wrapping up in this sweater to relax even on our most active days. The wool is blended with recycled polyester for a greener design.

Excellent design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent design but I wish it had more wool content

Hard to button on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This piece is hard to button on and less shapely than I expected. #sweepstakes

Can probably look nice on the right person

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just kind of an awkward drape, and buttons are fiddly

Would not purchase a wrap again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Smartwool sweaters. I have purchased four this season. The Edgewood wrap was very nice a bit light weight wool & did not look good on me. It didn't suit my lifestyle.

Returned it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sweater does not drape as illustrated, possibly because the construction is very odd. Other customers said that this garment runs large. That was not my experience. I returned it.

Happy with the purchase. Size up!

As some of the other comments said, it's snug thru the back and upper arms. If I wear it with a tank top it fits well, but with a normal base layer it's too snug.

Beautiful fabric!

I've been waiting for this to be restocked in my size for 3 months, and was happy that it became available. The fabric is beautiful and soft, and I feel that this will be a good transition from winter through the endless New England spring. The fasteners - a tiny button with a corresponding teeny loop - are awkwardly placed and I'm wondering if they will survive. Because the fabric is soft and stretchy, I'm expecting where the button is attached will eventually start to wear because it's not reinforced, yet is holding up a lot of fabric. I'm layering it now with the Everyday Exploration Merino Short Sleeve shirt, which works well because the shirt has elbow-length sleeves (no bunching). Under both, I have the Merino Sport Tank Dress. I actually feel a bit stylish!

Super cozy but a bit awkward

This is a super cozy sweater but the fit and closure is awkward. It's literally a rectangle with sleeves sewn onto it. I'm a size small in literally everything and this fits a little too tight across the back. Since the material has good stretch it is still wearable. The closure points around the neck/on top of the shoulders are also incredibly awkward to fasten. It would have been nice if there was a closure point either lower or closer to the front of the sweater, since it will open up and flap about if you do anything besides sit in a chair all day. Despite all those criticisms, the sweater is as comfy as all get out and I wear it a ton already.
