Scarpa Kailash Trek hiking boots
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These are good looking boots that run true to size with excellent grip provided by the vibram sole; however Scarpa has changed their design in two significant areas since the last time I bought their boots. 1) the tongue is much beefier at the top which causes it to bulge out above the lacing, allowing debris to enter and getting in the way of pant legs. 2) Scarpa uses a hook style loop instead of an eyelet for securing the last lacing at the top of the foot before moving up to the ankle. This hardware choice means (at least for me) that the laces are constantly being pulled out of these hooks due to any rough movement, such as scraping against rock or small branches. I find that I can't wear these boots with confidence unless I pair them with gators.

Aroosa

The boot is true to size, light weight, waterproof. Trekked in warm climate but feet never got sweaty. However, the boot is good for narrow feet. Did get a blister after walking 20 km ....

Stable Hiker
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These are my first Scarpa?s and I?m thoroughly impressed. I needed something to stabilize my weak ankles but found many would bother my achilles. These don?t. They?ve got great traction for dry, wet or cold weather. Good for hiking or just walking around mountain towns. They?ve kept my feat toasty and dry in low temps. The extra protection around the toe isn?t too much and leaves them looking aesthetically pleasing! I?m between 6.5 and 7 with high arches and the 37.5 fit great.
