Horrible
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have 6 other pair of Salomon shoes/boots. These are terrible. I have tied 3 times to wear them. With various socks. The tongue where it meets the ankle is unbearable. Each time I have had to pull the tongue out beyond the shoe to even be able to finish wearing them. Wide in the toe box does not even describe how big they are. I love the lacing system on Salomon footwear, but on these it bunches up the tongue/ shoe so much that there is so much material in top of my foot that it is literally uncomfortable. Would love to return them. But like I said have worn them. What a waste of good money.

New favorite shoes!

These boots are one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn! Incredible ankle support, cushioning, and traction. It took a bit to get used to the laces, but now I love how easy they are to loosen and tighten. I’ve worn them about ten times in icy/wet weather with no problem with the seams that some reviews mentioned. The only negative is the sizing is off-I had to order and return twice before getting the correct size. I’m usually a 9 but needed an 8 in this boot.

I bought the olive. I found these run too big. Nice color and quality. Wish I could return. Took too long to decide.

great comfort, horrible construction

Bought these at the end of May but just wore them on mini hike on Laguna Beach's Top of The World Hike! The hike took about an hour and the inner waterproof seams by the bend of the toes separated! I'm so so mad because these weren't cheap but because I bought them in May now I have to go through the warranty process. One hike! Not even a difficult hike! Not good! See pic below. Wouldn't allow me to attach more than one pic. They are super comfortable so it's such a shame that the construction fell apart.

Waterproofing separated on short hike
- Familiarity:

Went on a short hike and the waterproofing separated where the sole meets the uppers of the shoe. Returned after 1st use. All in all very comfortable, light, and stylish but could not recommend if you live anywhere with water.

Great For Mountain-Goating

Straight out of the box these are my favorite pair of hiking boots. My first hike was a steep trail over terrain that was either wet or a scramble over ankle-breaker-sized rocks. These boots grip gnarly obstacles, feel very stable, and support my notoriously weak ankles. I highly recommend these boots!

Comfy Out Of The Box
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Admittedly I was a little hesitant about how these would feel—I'm not much of a "boot" person—but after my first hike in them, a tough 13-mile loop in the national park near my home, I was sold. These are incredibly lightweight and comfortable. After the first 5 miles, I forgot I was wearing boots at all. Fresh out of the box, and on a big hike that crossed numerous streams, I didn't suffer any blisters or hot spots. The traction was supreme, even on the slipperiest moss-covered rocks. And the GORE-TEX is as good as you'd expect. Definitely recommend for anyone doing a lot of rocky hikes near water!

I am a K9 deputy and I bought the black ones for work! Being a female it is so hard to find work boots that are waterproof in female sizes! I LOVE THESE SHOES!! They are waterproof, comfortable, and light weight which means EVERYTHING when it?s comes to doing K9 tracks in all different kinds of terrain! I highly recommend!

These boots are rad.
- Familiarity:

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review Is my personal opinion. These boots are rad. They are sleek, comfortable, and took no time breaking in. They were true to size but fit better with a thicker pair of hiking socks. Ive taken them out on a few trips from snow to trail, and they still look new. I have even run in them and feel stable. The lace mechanism is good but also frustrating at times. I love being able to leave them loose when out climbing so I can easily slip them on and off, but the down side is tightening them. Every other time the mechanism to tighten the strings doesn't work well, and I have to undo and redo it. However, The laces do stay put once tightened. Overall this is a solid boot, and I would recommend it for a great all-around hiking boot.
