Chester Pedal

We wouldn't get too far on our trusty steeds if not for a pair of reliable pedals to get us through the rough and rowdy sections of trail, and a long-standing favorite around the Competitive office is Race Face's Chester Pedal. Back for another round and with some slight redesigns, the Chester is eager to get back at it, providing a light and sturdy concave platform with new traction treads to boost your trip when things get slick. The Chester Predals continue with the nylon composite body that we've seen before, and 8-adjustable hex pins per side, plus a price tag that doesn't drain your bank account all in one go.

Using eight replaceable steel hex traction pins on each side of the pedals, Race Face gives the rubber soles of your shoes a place to hang on when you're blasting through destructive territory. It also fully seals the bearing and bushing system while a durable Cro-Mo steel axle keeps the pedal working smoothly for as long as possible. If it eventually does need some work, Race Face makes the system completely serviceable too, so you won't be forced to replace a perfectly good pedal because of a bushing or bearing problem.

Inspire confidence

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm more of a roadie so I'm used to clipping-in. However, after buying a new MTB and hitting the local trails, I discovered that maybe flats would be better at least until I get used to some of the more technical sections. I stumbled onto these and they work perfectly. Makes tackling that uphill rock garden a little less stressful. Plus, they come in orange.

Dont think, BUY THESE NOW

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Seriously best flat MTB pedal I've ever used. I've tried other brands and I've tried clips but honestly these are hands down my favorite pedals to use when ripping some single track or downhill lines. Love LOVE love. Hubby and I both love these and wont go to a different brand, quality is just beyond phenomenal and will handle smashes against rock that are bound to happen from time to time and I love the size of the platform I feel so secure on these bad boys. Seriously why are you still reading reviews.. BUY THESE you wont be dissapointed!

Best flat pedals I've had

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These are great pedals for the price, I had tons of hard rock strikes with my old pedals. These give me a little more clearance. Some of the rock gardens on the trails I ride just whack a pedal even when I do my best, it happens occasionally

Don't want to use anything else

Familiarity:

These pedals rock. I have had mine for 2 years now and have contemplated switching to different pedals several times but always decided to stick with these! AMAZING GRIP! I have never slipped off, always feel locked in and ready to rip. The scrapped and banged them on rocks and have never lost a pin or broken the pedals. Super strong and durable, and also light weight. Overall, 10/10. I just ordered my wife a bike and bought these same pedals for her because I don't trust anything else.

Better Grip and feel!

Replace stock pedals for these and what a difference. Grips good on my Vans and any shoe with a soft sole. Highly Recommend for the beginner and Advanced.

Great value and great pedal

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I rode these pedals on a friend's mountain bike and had to get them for my own. They are strong, smooth and grippy - especially when paired with MTB shoes (I have the five ten freeriders).

They look amazing on my new Juliana Wilder. Haven’t slipped off them yet. Slammed them on some rocks a few times and they’re still intact.
