Why We Like The Kortal Race MIPS Helmet
POC's Kortal Race MIPS Helmet is what enduro and trail riders need to not sweat the climbs and stay cool between race stages. A detachable helmet peak can be adjusted, and rear ventilation holes are shaped so sunglasses can be stored securely. The helmet integrates seamlessly with POC's Ora goggles, and the goggle straps are designed to leave ventilation holes uncovered.

Best helmet for my dome
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
As always, try to find a place to try on for best fit, but for me this hit all the marks. Fit, comfort, breath ability and adjustability. Doesn’t hurt that it’s sleek too. I’ve tried about 4-5 different helmets before I found this one and I stopped the search immediately. This is the one for me!

Viva la Poc!

I wore the helmet for two weeks…the best MTB helmet I’ve had. Cancer won’t let me wear it again until next spring, but I can’t wait!

Visor removal is delicate
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
This may be the most baller MTB helmet out there. Great looks, perfect fit (which can be dialed easily via the rear adjustment knob), and an adjustable and REMOVABLE visor. I have been wanting a hemet that I can remove the visor for when I ride the road. I know most people have separate road and MTB helmnets, but in my opinion that isn't nessecary because i don't know how much aero benefit there is in a helmet for someone that is not a road racer time trialer. Unfortunately the tiny clip that snaps in on the side of the visor cracked off the first time I removed it.

Poor Quality Control
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Upon checking, you can see some the defects on the visor. It is noticeable, the cut outs is still not done (cosmetic defects and poor workmanship) and something that you would not expect from highly reputable helmet brand. I hope POC will continue to improve their quality control.

Freaking Love It!

I've gone through quite a few helmets over the years. Some I've liked, few have I loved. This is easily my most favorite helmet I think I've ever had. Its super comfortable, flows a crazy amount of air and I really love the technology built into the helmet. I tend not to scrimp on helmets because I don't want to learn how to tie my shoes again. It was super hard when I was four. I can't imagine how hard it would be in my fourtys. This helmet really makes me feel like I got a lot of value for my money.

Saved my head
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I was out mountain biking with this helmet and got bucked off my bike really badly. The crash ended with one of the largest head impacts I've ever experienced. I heard a snap in my ears and started freaking out because I thought I had broken something. Turned out the sound was just the MIPS system inside the helmet snapping under the rotational impact so my head didn't. In the end I came a way with little more than the wind knocked out of me. I would credit this helmet with the fact I do not have a serious concussion. Side note: I talked to POC and they are sending me a replacement part for free to put into my helmet. This helmet definitely gave me sticker shock at first but I think in the end it was worth it. you only get one head so I would recommend protecting it

Great Fit
- Familiarity:

I have the helmet but waiting for single track season in the high Rockies. I do want to comment on the fit of the helmet. I have wore Specailized, Kask, Giro, and Lazer; this POC by far hugs my skull the best out of all those brands. The Kask coming in second. We all have different head shapes and mine is more oval than round. The POC Kortal is light weight and feels great on my head the few times I've put it on and given it the shake test. Will update my review once mtb season comes to the Rockies in CO.

Best Purchase
- Familiarity:

If your paying premium price for a helmet you want it to feel like home right out of the box and this helmet does exactly that. The sizing options didn?t make much sense to me (xs-s aka small, m-l aka medium, xl-xxl aka large) as my sizing was at the very top end for L bottom end of XL (I?m about 60cm) and ended up going with the XL-XXL. The helmet is size large (at least says that on back of helmet). So little weird but it fit like a charm. Went for my first ride and had no pressure points and plenty of ventilation. Top quality product and looks awesome too. HIGHLY recommend this product.
