Why We Like The Retro Pile Marsupial Pullover
As comfortable as a pouch–bound baby kangaroo, the Retro Pile Marsupial Pullover takes inspiration from Patagonia’s fleece heritage and love of the outdoors. Guaranteed to keep us warm and cozy, this uber-soft pullover couldn’t make sitting around a campfire any more pleasant for us.
Double-sided shearling polyester fleece is extra soft and provides reliable warmth for brisk weather. A tall standing collar alongside a marsupial handwarmer pocket kicks the warmth factor up a notch when chilly winds pick up. Straightened side seams mean this pullover is made for layering, so when temperatures drop throw on an extra base layer and don’t miss out on s'mores. Plus, you can camp comfortably knowing that this luxurious pullover is sustainably sourced from 100% recycled polyester.

Toasty, Comfey, good fit

Most Excellent. Read a few reviews about shedding??? Not my experience. Do not like fitted clothing for outdoor activities. This is just right. So warm - age 72 and always cold. This kept me warm with only one shirt underneath in 32 degree weather. Best purchase!

Great fleece, but the "mushroom" color looked like a light taupe online and is actually pale pink in person and not the look I was going for

Cozy and Soft but sheds..
- Familiarity:

I bought this for my trip to Chile. I love the style and fit. It does have a more boxy fit. It kept me warm and felt cozy. The only negative thing I have to say about this is that it sheds. So be aware.

Perfect mid weight, but sheds!

Patagonia, what happened?! This is my third try at a fleece and this one is such a great weight and fit. However, the quality is lacking. Cream colored fleece sheds everywhere, the seatbelt of my car is covered! I find tiny bits all over my pants, shirt, purse and anything that comes into contact with it.

Love, love, LOVE this fleece!!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I had an old fleece from Patagonia that was sort of this style - Marsupial though it didn’t have zippers and it ran particularly small - and I ordered another one, same problem. I wore them plenty, but frankly I was disappointed with them. Along this Marsupial comes along…I am so in love and will be wearing it all the time! First of all, Patagonia got the sizing right. And I can wear it over a tshirt, or another sweater. Second, I can take it off easily (whereas the ones I had before were such a pain to take off). Thirdly, this has THREE pockets, so I can put my sunglasses in the top pocket, and the dog leash into the second and third pockets (they connect), or bigger items when I need my hands. And the brown color is so beautiful! Thank you. Backcountry! I hope this fleece will come out with more colors in the Spring because it is now my favorite to wear!

Love this pullover! Got the gold with pink trim and love the contrast. Super soft, fuzzy and warm! Just love it!

Runs Small and Short
I always wear a size small top. This runs small and short for a 5’7” woman. Had to return for bigger size to allow for any layering at all.

I already owned this in another color so I was thrilled to see this new color that goes with some of my other gear. Thankfully it is exactly the same quality and fit. I like the variety of pockets and the length of the zipper. Love this!

Perfect Fleece

I've had the Los Gatos for years and it was my favorite fleece ever. My one wish was that it had pockets, so when I saw this jacket I knew I had to try it. It's just as cozy and soft as my Los Gatos, but with pockets! I also love the fit and the fun color combo.

Want to love

I loved this when I first put it on. The fit is perfect which is rare for me. I have long arms, somewhat broad shoulders, and a long torso. It's soft and cozy and I planned on never taking it off. Then it started pilling just a couple hours into wearing it. And hasn't stopped. Also I put my coin pouch that's a natural color cloth inside the pocket and it came out with a ridiculous amount of fuzz all over it. It also seems to attract any little crumb, speck of dust, or pet hair I encounter. Then I put my hand in the zippered pocket and when I took my hand out realized the zipper had pulled the wrist thread loose along the seam! I'm so sad because I really wanted to love this fleece but it's going back. I got it in the Navy color fyi.
