Not As Advertised
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The baselayer top is so thin that you can see through it when putting it on. It lets so much air through that it's barely worth wearing. It is not at all a mid-weight baselayer. I would not recommend this top any kind of cold weather. Slightly chilly weather maybe.

Simply Unbeatable
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Patagonia?s Capilene line is undeniably the best base layer in the game, Thermal, Mid and Air series. These mid weight are my favorite, including the bottom piece. I use it as part of a layering system. I stay cool and dry when I?m out being active but warm when I?m static. I rotate between three sets for the better part of fall and all of winter while adding or shedding layers when needed. These are nicely priced as well. I have had mine for two seasons and they still smell great. I used Nike?s dri-fit before and after one year, it smelled awful.
