Capilene Midweight Crew Top

Whether you're facing the first pitch of a long climb early in the morning or you're heading to the resort for a chilly bluebird day, pull on the Patagonia Men's Capilene Midweight Crew Top for wicking warmth and comfort. Crafted with a smooth face and diamond-grid lining, this baselayer strikes the sweet spot between weight, breathability, and wicking power. Its smooth face makes layering easy, while the brushed grid pattern on the back traps warmth and wicks moisture to keep you dry and comfortable throughout the day. Patagonia finished this top with a HeiQ Fresh Tech treatment to reduce odors, and with flatlock seams and underarm gussets to minimize chafing when you're on the move.

A Great Base Layer in Every Way So Far

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am 5'10" 195 pounds 38 waist. The XL fit perfectly. A very comfortable, compact, warm and high quality base layer so far.

THE BEST base layer

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Of the handful I’ve tried (REI brand, UA, Peak to Plateau), Patagonia Capilene is unquestionably the best. Not only does it wick, breathe, and dry quickly, nothing even comes close to its feel against the skin—luxuriously comfortable. The material can snag on stuff relatively easy though if you’re wearing it by itself, but under a shell or jacket/pants it keeps me warm and dry better than anything else I’ve worn

I don't like the current Capilene midwei

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

When purchasing Capilene midweight in 2018, it was three-dimensional, and the material was more like quick drying clothes The new Capilene midweight becomes soft and elastic, which is not as good as the old version. Personally, I don't like the new style

Simply & unequivocally the best!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

See my original review of June 2019. I wear them 10 months out of the year and wash them regularly. Without a doubt the best performing piece of clothing I have ever owned. Does everything its designed to do and does it very well! I am totally impressed with Patagonia performance and quality is second to none.
