The temperatures have dropped, but that doesn't stop us from getting after it when we're wearing the Patagonia Capilene Air Crew Top. The durable, airy wool blend pulls moisture off your skin to keep you dry and warm under the rest of your layers. Even if you're really working hard and producing a lot of sweat, you won't have to worry about applying multiple layers of deodorant as wool naturally repels odors. The seamless 3D Construction eliminates all chafe points through the entire top so you can move all day long in bliss and comfort. This construction also produces almost no wasted material. So in addition to being environmentally conscious, you don't have to worry about fabric catching on your other layers while you're out and about.

This is by far the best merino style base I’ve ever used. Have been doing outdoor stuff nearly 30 years now and started pure merino maybe 2008 or so. The blend of this is a perfect balance of merino warmth, lack of smell, and feels like cashmere on your skin! The capilene blend helps the dry time and wicking while hiking or climbing. Truly amazing and I have 2 crew tops and one hoody. The reason for 2 crews, Patagonia has changed the feel of this, maybe to improve surface durability, but the skin feel of the new model feels way less comfortable. Buy one of these and you’ll be happy for some time, buy 2 and good for a very long time!

Love it

Warm but not too warm. I’m 5’8”, 160lb cyclist with a long torso. Arm length is good, torso length even better. I need to look at Patagonia more often. Responsible manufacturing with great quality & customer service. Definitely recommend 👍🏻

Best Base Layer
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is the best base there is for outdoor activities. I’ve use this resort skiing, touring, hiking, ice climbing, and everything in between. This thing can’t be beat. I got completely drenched on an ice climb where water was running down my tools into my jacket and the only part of my body that wasn’t freezing was where this layer was. Highly recommend.

Great fit and style

- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I like this crew a lot, very comfortable and breathable. My only gripe is it catches a lot of debris and feel like the garment is delicate to snags and pilling.

One of the best

One of the best baselayers I have owned. Can be worn as such or on its own as a sweater. Warm, quick drying, breathable, and repels the stank. Worn a few days in winter without little to no stink. Fit is not too tight, not loose either for an athletic build.

Next-level wicking!!!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Reminds me a bit of Brynje stuff in that it's so incredibly wicking. But this is obviously more presentable in public. It's next-level when it comes to wicking and keeps me feeling much drier than I'm used to. I just wore it for six days straight in the High Sierra, and sweated it up every day. It shows zero signs of wear and strangely didn't stink at all. This stuff is a real game-changer for me. Leave it to Patagonia to discontinue it though.....We'll see.

great for heat regulation

I run in this down to below freezing during the day with no extra layers and feel pretty good and don't sweat too much running at about 40 degrees F or so. I ordered the men's sizes (I have a S, which is more my size, and M because I like the extra room). The women's sizes were way too form fitting for me. I would say size up regardless of gender.

Feels Fantastic
- Familiarity:

I got this planning to run in it. Instead I wear this for work, lounging, and all forms of leisure activity. I have no doubt I COULD run in it. But I like this so much I just can't do it. My only quibble is that it runs a little long. I'd love more versions of this - a hoody would be great. But the absolute best material - feels like you are wearing nothing, yet is somehow both warm and airy. It's my favorite thing for casual days at work.

Everyday wear

I bought four of these last year, and I?ve worn them ever cool/cold day since. They are surprisingly warm. I wear them hiking, walking the dog, and as a light sweater at work. Could be my best clothing purchase ever.
