Why We Like the Capilene Air Bottom
As is Patagonia's standard Capilenes weren't comfy enough, this baselayer brings a whole new level of coziness to our skiing, trekking, climbing, and camping trips. Its fabric feels airier than most baselayers, and it's super effective at wicking moisture and drying quickly. We also appreciate the seamless feel from top to bottom.

Very thin, very see through, not warm

They are VERY thin. The material is sheer, very very see through. For a baselayer, these are not very warm either.

Great but not durable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Day two of wearing these lovely base leggings and a seem has split open. Absolutely love how light, airy, and warm they are, but it's a deal-breaker if they can't hold up to some slope rides. I got a medium which was actually a little large on me, but that made it all the more comfy-point is the material wasn't stressed. It's a lot of money to spend on something that is not durable. Hoping my pair was just defective in stitching.

Perfect for hiking and snowshoeing!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Really happy with these pants and the matching top. Super lightweight, comfortable, stretchy, warm. I put this under shell pants in 15-30 degree temps and stayed warm enough out snow shoeing. It seems delicate, like it would snag easily, but so far so issues at all! This is meant to be long underwear and is more sheer so you would not want to wear these as workout pants in public. Seems like they could be great PJ's too though if you needed to sleep in them in a tent or cabin!

Sad to see it go

I ordered these as a hopeful base layer for my ski trip next week. I was hoping the brand and price tag would be promising, but these are very see-through! I'm returning these.
