Backcountry worth
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
It feels like an amazing jacket. Plan on using it as my belay jacket on a 3 day mountaineering trip to mt. Baker in a few months. I?m 5?6 145 and the sizing seems right on. If it ran big I would need an XS but the Small size fits perfectly over all of my layers. My wife laughs at me because I?ve been wearing it around the house like a sleeping bag. It?s just so fluffy and comfortable, but has a durable shell. Love the back length so it?s the longest of my layers and helmet or helmetless adjustable hood. I?m confident after buying this I?ll be warm on this next trip into the back

Warmest Jacket I've Ever Used
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Before I purchased this parka I've owned and used the OR floodlight for years. When the baffles started to go OR gave me a credit to replace the jacket I got this. I am super impressed. I recently used it on a winter hike in PA when the temps were around 5 degrees, and this kept me nice and toasty on my lunch break and stops. The Pertex Quantum fabric is also lightweight and tough. Love the roomy stash pockets inside and the hand pockets outside are comfortable and accessible even with mittens. It's also clearly designed with layer in mind, as I had to go a size down and still have more than enough room underneath for several layers. 100% recommend this if you frequently hike or backpack in winter on the east coast, probably great for the alpine as well. I love OR and they stand behind their products and you won't be disappointed by this awesome Parka.

Like the Pata Fitz Roy!
- Familiarity:

Super impressed with the feel and performance of this jacket. It seems very similar to Patagonia's Fitz Roy parka - although this one is a tad longer which I love! Fill power of 800 and still very packable and lightweight. The pockets are nice and big and sit slightly higher like a belay-style parka. I sized up so I could layer a lot under neath this jacket.
