Why We Like The Outdoor Research PackOut Compression 20L Stuff Sack

There's no worse feeling than packing our bag up with all of our gear before a big outing and finding that it doesn't fit. The Outdoor Research PackOut Compression 20L Stuff Sack is here to relieve that issue by quite simply making our stuff smaller. The two-strap compression design and roll-top closure allow us to take large, bulky items, like sleeping bags or bulky, airy clothing items, and push out excess air so they take up minimal space in our pack. The rectangular profile of the compression sack fits neatly in our bags, making efficient use of the dimensions of our pack to ensure everything stays neat and organized.

Compression and Dry Bags

These are light duty fabric but certainly durable enough to go inside luggage or a pack. Good value and well built. I used them for a week on a motorcycle tour and they performed well.

Not even close to as good as previous models

This item arrived at my doorstep today and it's definitely nowhere near as high of quality or as rugged and well thought out as the original that it replaced. I'll fid a use for it but OR seems to be following a trend of making lower-quality products and keeping the price the same. I found what I'm looking for on a competitor's website and will be going that way. Very disappointed.

Down grade from the old style.

I got this to supplement my older compression stuff sack. It is durable enough and kept my equipment dry. How ever I am not a fan of the new design, it is harder it pack and seal than the older style as well as doesn't compress as small. I do not regret buying them but would not purchase again.

Very Durable and Innovative

I used this product on a recent military field exercise where we spent 21 straight days training in the woods living out of our rucksack. This stuff sack held up great the whole time keeping clothes dry and dust free. I also used it each night as a pillow. The design is great because it is both a water resistant bag and a compression sack. 20 L is a lot more space than you think you need. I had two full military uniforms in it only filled the bag about halfway (see photo). I would say if you are just using this for a couple day backpacking trip get the 5 or 10 Liter. If you are using this for a multiple week trip id get the 20 L.

Great dry bag

Great dry bag if it filled with the right amount of gear. It doesn't quite cinch down if underfilled.
