Not warm
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I purchased this check yet based on other reviews. I work outside and have been a north face down jacket pro wear for 12 years. I tried the outdoor research brand due to a lack of quality in the north face is past couple of years where my seems broke. Wow I am wearing the jacket outside and 30° weather with a sweater on and I am very cold! This comes nowhere near the warmth of my north face jacket for the same amount of bulk. I am going to return it. The looks are good, but other than that it function is not good. it also doesn’t have the face adjusters in the front of the face to really cinch it down only on the back of the head. The bands at the wrists are elastic and you cannot tighten them down anymore. It fits well and looks good, but that’s about it.

Medium seems a bit small
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have a pair of size 10 Outdoor Research pants and thought a medium in this jacket would fit fine - but wow was it tight. I returned for a large, which is a bit more roomy than I like. But I like the jacket so much, I kept the large. I especially like the rip cord on the hood as most hood fall down over my eyes! the rip cord takes care of that problem.

Very Nice Jacket
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
This jacket has great features and looks good. Almost perfect, but not quite. It had some weird bunching in the back around my waist. I liked the Rab Microlight Alpine jacket better as it had a bit more feminine fit.

Perfect everyday mountain jacket
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Really love the fit and comfort of this jacket. Got the nimbus/navy blue in a small. Could have gone XS but nice to be able to throw it on over whatever layers I’m wearing. Can’t wait to take it out on the slopes. 5’2” and 106 lbs - you can go either way with the sizing.

Hits all the requirements
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
So far really great for every day, plus hiking, not bulky, totally lightweight and yet warm (worn it down to -2 windchill so far). Larger hand pockets than other jackets I have (north face, patagonia) - can fit my hand, phone and gloves in one pocket alone. Shapely but not fitted (I am thin though), nice and roomy for easy movement with a nice length that covers the waist, as it hits below my hips and I am not short. Hood is overly roomy but can be adjusted. Not a deal breaker but if not zipped all the way up the zipper top cover is a bit annoying as it is difficult to hold away from your face. Can't wait for a good snow so I can test out the waterproof hood/shoulders!
