Cirque II Softshell Pant
If 'vertical' is a word that appears in your everyday vocabulary, then the Outdoor Research Women's Cirque Softshell Pants want to catch some altitude with you. Made for days in the mountains when waterproof hard-shell pants would be too stuffy but regular hiking pants wouldn't provide enough protection, the Cirque pants are crafted with a water-resistant, double-weave stretch fabric that shields you from mist and doesn't mind the occasional spring skiing day. The trim fit lies comfortably under a harness during summer alpine missions, and a durable scuff guard adds a layer of defense against crampon points and ski edges. Sweet pants!
These pants PERFORM. They kept me warm and dry, they stretch and fit well. I didn’t need to, but you totally could add a layer underneath them. I LOVE the adjustable waistband. They have a reinforced panel on the inner side to protect from boots. LOTS of good pockets! These pants are tough. I would definitely recommend them for cold weather activities. I wore them on Rainier and they were perfect!

I love these. I have the original Cirque

I see reviews complaining about sizing, which may have changed since I bought mine in about 2011. I am 5'5" 150 lbs, about 28 waist, 39 hips and the small fits fine, although snug. I can wear long underwear, or even two pair under. Again, I don't mind a snug in the rear fit because this way it's easier to get a waterproof zip over pant on if conditions really go south. The waist is highly adjustable, I usually need it velcroed way in. I have taken these through the wringer and they still look great. I mostly use them for winter snowshoe/scrambles and alpine climbs. I don't like to rock climb in them, but they have the flexibility for it. I wish they came in bright colors for my friends, because they refuse to buy them since they are only in gray and black. Personally I prefer the gray/black options to hot pink but hey, it could be fun to have a new color option every season.

Great Winter/Mountain Pants

I already had a pair of these in the Mens Pant and purchased a pair for my wife. These pants are great for activities involving snow. I am a mountaineer and have used mine on several climbs and on the less strenous activities like snow shoeing and winter hiking. These pants are recommened by some of the more elite mountain climbers for places like Mt Raineer - and rightfully so. Great Fit and adjustable so that is nice. Extra padding in the ankle area for protection is also a plus. These are warm and keep you dry.

Wanted to LOVE these...
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
When I got them in the mail, they were the perfect look. Thick material. Would have been great for backpacking, climbing and then in the winter for Snowboarding. However for me they were a little small in the fit. I?m a 31 waist. I bought the large which usually fit. These were a bit small. I loved the look, the feel and the color. Just wish they had fit. Yes I could?ve exchanged, I just decided not too.
