Treasure on the Chesapeake
Folks, if your looking for a stable, straight tracking, comfortable kayak weighing at 42lbs this baby is for you. I have been doing this for quite a while now and have had a lot of good kayaks. Some were longer and some shorter, all had their good and not so good. One and larger chop, cross winds and both at the same time and my 11xt has handled it all with the grace of a well designed boat. Cudos Old Town and thank you Lancaster marine for keeping me on the water. 68 years old and still doing what I love best.

Love my Heron 11XT
This is my second year with this kayak, I love the simplicity, stability and spaciousness. I tried a more expensive and better rated kayak, but after a third try, I decided to stick to my Old Town. I like that I can stretch my legs or sit cross legged. The hatch has plenty of room. I appreciate that it only ways 41 lbs, making it easier to load and maneuver on the water. On one occasion, I ended up in a river with a bit more action than I expected, but it performed quite well, leaving me to feel safe. It takes more effort to travel in a straight path in strong winds, but not more so than other more expensive kayaks who boast being the best.
