Why We Like The Ghost Whisperer 2 Down Jacket
The Mountain Hardwear Men's Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket won a number of awards in the industry when it was first released back in 2012, and it has since become the gold standard in ultralight down jackets. Part of the allure of the Ghost Whisperer (besides its ridiculously lightweight design) was Mountain Hardwear's resolve to keep the jacket fully loaded with the proverbial bells and whistles, instead of just chopping features in an attempt to keep the jacket light.
The Ghost Whisperer is ideal for climbing in the alpine, long-haul backpacking trips, and peak-bagging bids where packing light and moving fast is key to reaching our objective. While we might typically reserve our down jacket for dry and mild climates, the Ghost Whisperer isn't afraid to get a little wet thanks to its nylon outer with DWR treatment that can easily fight off light weather. As an added bonus the nylon outer boasts impressive durability for climbing missions, and is made entirely of recycled materials.

Decent jacket
Zipper on this thing is tiny. It will likely break but other than that it seems good but not worth the price.

Meh
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
My first mountain hardware purchase. This jacket is nothing special. I was very disappointed. The zipper is hard to get together cause it’s so small. The sleeves are very tight, but I mostly get that.

Good product but akward sizing
I previously had the old version of the ghost whisperer, which last 8 years of good use by two owners, until the zipper broke. I bought the new one and the fit is not as good, it is really tight at the armpits. Maybe there is a good reason for it, to better keep the warmth I do not know. But it drove me mute. I went a size higher because of that. Took a large, 5’9 175 lbs and the fit is ok.

Wet Stone jacket color IRL is totally different than in website pictures
I just received the 'Wet Stone' colour and it is totally different from the pictures. The picture showcases a more white/light grey color but the actual product is green. I checked the style number on the tag and the order receipt and it aligns with the style number on the product page on the website so either the website photos are off or maybe this product is incorrectly tagged in the inventory. I want to exchange this for the actual light grey color or return this jack if light grey is unavaiable.
