If it fits it fits.

You don't know how you'll fit your deluxe woodboard above your van's door, but the Metolius Wood Grips Compact II fits above most door-jams, and just like cams, you want the perfect fit more than a bigger size. Just like the deluxe model, this Wood Grips hangboard has a total wood construction that's soft on your skin so you can suffer—and get stronger—longer.

Sweet Board for Texture and for Training

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have owned Metolius's original hangboard, first and second generation Rock Rings, and sets of campus rungs. I bought the Woods Grips Compact during the pandemic when I resurrected my garage wall. I am 68 and do most of my workouts with a leg or 2 on a stepstool. Mine is mounted on a roof feature in my garage and can be reached from the floor. This board is great for short workouts, warmups, or long grinding repeater sets. I like how you can use a number of the edges and pockets at different hand widths. Could use: a harder sloper, a center jug, a pinch. I recommend wiping off your chalk every few sessions to keep the holds crisp and the look classic. Excellent piece, especially for the price.
