Why We Like The Ultralight TCU Packaged Sets
Thanks to Metolius' minimalist design, the Ultralight TCU Package adds a few pieces to our rack for so little weight that we don't even notice them. A combination of CNC machining, Monster slings, and a direct-axle design that eliminates all unneeded material ensures that we're not carrying one extra gram.
Metolius takes climbing safety seriously, which is why it added cam stops for better holding power in tipped-out or even passive placements. Not wanting to stop there, Metolius also added rangefinders on the sides of these cams to help you verify that you have exactly the right size for the crack in question.

Thoughts after first use...
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The Metolius cams offered a solid, secure placement in the varied rock features of the "New", from the smooth, slick sandstone walls to the more jagged, textured cracks. The cam lobes spread well and the trigger action was smooth, allowing for quick, easy placements and adjustments.
