Why We Like The Spire Pant

For those who spend the days of winter in an endless quest for fresh tracks through the fluffy stuff, the Marmot Spire Pant is the bombproof storm-riding piece of your dreams. It's made with the waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX 3-layer Performance Shell fabric for a guaranteed barrier against moisture.

When you're hiking for the goods, full-length side zips dump excess heat and make for quick on-and-off even while wearing ski boots. Whether you prefer a belt or bibs, the adjustable and removable suspenders with a lightweight mesh back panel and belt loops let you dial your fit in to keep the pants where you want them. Marmot crafted these pants with articulated knees and a relaxed fit for a freeride vibe, so you might want to size down unless you're down with the baggy swag.

Marmot

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

The description is Wrong! I had a pair of Marmot Spire pants and loved them so much I wanted another pair. I found them on Backcountry and their description matched exactly what I already had and when I received them they were totally different. 1. They are NOT full zip which is only what I want. 2. The gator does not split. 3. The suspenders are NOT removable without cutting them off! 4. The fit is too tight around the waist (size medium and I am 5-10" /175# with a 32" waist) and the crotch is too tight.

Better pants out there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Inseam is long and and the suspenders are too short and not detachable. Fabric is light and soft, and not very durable. But the color is great!

Warm comfort

Love these pants! Used them for the first time in Tahoe and they worked amazingly! They do a great job cutting the wind and cold. Very durable. Love these pants! I’m 6’1” 188 lbs and bought mediums. Fit perfectly.

Outstanding

These are my second pair of Marmot ski pants. I used the previous pants for many years and was extremely pleased with their durability and warmth. As a retired Ski Patroler I can say that Marmot products are exceptionally made and last forever. I absolutely love these new Spire pants. The only draw back is the horizontal pockets are a bit shallow and will not hold a cell phone. Other than that they are outstanding. I highly recommend them for all skiing applications.

Good pants

Based on the reviews here I ordered a large (I am 6’1” and 190 lbs). The large is actually pretty loose, I have to cinch up the Velcro reducers. I haven’t tried on a medium so couldn’t say how they’d fit but the large is definitely pretty big, I’d say up to 36” waist no problem.

Perfect, minus the suspenders…

Nearly perfect ski pants. Comfortable, sturdy, good looking. My one complaint is that the suspenders are several inches too short. I’m just under 6’ tall, and the Medium fits perfectly… except the suspenders, which would likely cause a wedgie if worn, even adjusted all the way out. They can be removed, but I wish they just fit.

The Marmot Spire Pants are top notch. They exceeded my expectations in quality and fit. I'm positive they will give me many seasons use.

Suspenders... no good

The pants are great, you either need to make the suspenders longer or removable. Im 6' and bought large, the suspenders hike them up too much.

Well made but short in the crotch

These pants are well made as all Marmot clothing is, but they are short in the crotch area even without the suspenders.

My thoughts on the Spire Pant

I ordered the pants hoping they wouldnt be to short as I am tall and slender. The lenght worked and the waist was doable. I love the pants although there are a few places I would improve upon. 1- a button or velcro at the ankle zipper, 2- a split on the gaiter with vecro and a button as its tight to get over the boots, 3-mesh lining under the leg vents and last but not least offer them in a tall size!
