Love Them! 2nd Pair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love these hiking pants!! I have owned a pair for a couple years and they go through the gauntlet in a summer. In an unexpected down pour they dried quickly, they stretch when climbing steep grades and over boulder fields. They are super comfortable, stylish and I love the blue steel color! The pockets work well for me - especially with the zipper and there is nothing I don't like about these pants - for summer! I have over 500 miles on these the past 2 summers. No issues other than one drawstring at the bottom broke loose. Not a big deal - I just retied it. the cost v function is phenomenal! I wish I could buy more of these before they decide to change what already works perfectly! Stretchy, quick dry, breathable, durable, stylish, zippered cargo pocket, great fit! Love them!!!

New style is 3 stars, but the old style was a 5

I have two pairs of the old style and one of the new. I have to say that the old style was near perfect for my needs (and are still go-to's years later). This new style is just OK. I will purchase these again, but as others have said, only if you bring back the rear pocket and zippers at the bottom of the pants. I also agree with others that the thigh pocket change is not ideal (the old style is more functional), but that change is not a deal breaker for me.

Missing Belt Loop

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These pants are great, with one exception. The frontmost belt loop on the left side is omitted. I use a belt and I seem to get by, but it is an irritating omission.

Why did you do it, Marmot?

I've worn these pants for years on many trails and the slopes of mountains from Denali to Rainier to Cotopaxi. Well, I've worn the previous version on those trails and slopes. The changes to the current version are not great. As others have said, bring back the back pocket, move the thigh pocket to the side of the thigh, and put the zips back in the bottom of the pants. Otherwise, the pants are useless.

Comfortable, great fitting, with no back pockets!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy the pants greatly, and would wear them often if they had a back pocket like every other pair of pants I have ever owned. The construction is nice and they fit great, but the omission of the rear pocket has made these my least favorite pants simply by the lack of one small creature comfort.

Great pants

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Husband appreciates the looser fit and that they're not too tight in the crotch.

Was Great, Now Not So....

Bring back the rear pocket, please...! This is the greatest pant, but we need the zipper rear pocket back. Who puts their wallet in the front pocket..?
