The Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket is one of our favorite reliable rain shells for keeping covered from wet weather when we're backpacking and hiking. Marmot made this jacket with waterproofing and environmentally friendly fabric. Its NanoPro membrane provides waterproof, breathable protection, and fully sealed seams prevent a single raindrop from seeping through. Zippers under each arm amplify airflow and ventilation. Not only does the hood pack into the jacket's collar, the jacket can also pack in its pocket for compactness in backpacks as well as convertible coverage.

Stylish, warm, water resistant , and light jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is really well made. It is very stylish, light, but wind resistant. It has zippered pockets to keep items dry and the hood is designed to keep head dry against windy conditions. The multi color allows a person to wear many different outfits. I love this jacket and recommend it highly.

Great packable rain jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like everything about this jacket. I like the fit, the color, the cut, the pit zips and the way it keeps me dry. I bought a couple extra for my teenagers.

Excellent value and performance
Experienced 3 days of miserable 45 degree rainy weather and was kept dry and warm. Great value for money.

Nice wind-breaker style jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a nice wind-breaker type jacket. For my needs, it works out well. I did think it was going to be more of an insulated jacket, but it grew on me fast.

Color switch?
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Ordered one color, got a totally different color. Not even a nice one. Now the color we ordered is out of stock.

Kept me dry for 5 Summers
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I used this sparingly for 5 summers. I only put it on when it was actually raining. Two of those times were 8-hour+ long days rafting. The inside waterproof lining started giving out last summer and this summer it finally started flaking and coming off around the shoulders. I was standing in the river fishing and my shoulders started letting water through and I eventually ended up soaked. I think I got my money's worth and it kept me dry until it didn't.

NOT Waterproof
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
As attractive and well-designed as this jacket is - it is NOT waterproof. I wore it twice in a drizzle and once in a light rain and within 10 minutes the inside was moist as were my clothes. This is a wind breaker at best. Super bummed.
