Zephir Altitude Harness
Reaching the summit brings about a sense of clandestine euphoria; you wandered near and far to surpass self-imposed challenges, ones only further assisted by the Mammut Zephir Altitude Harness. Designed specifically for alpine pursuits and ski-touring endeavors, the Zephir Altitude weighs in at a mere 7.5 ounces. This harness owes its light weight to Mammut's innovative Split Webbing technology that splits one piece of webbing in two sections to distribute your body's pressure evenly throughout the entire harness without using additional materials. This also allows for ventilation and breathability throughout the waist and legs so you barely feel this harness while you climb and ski.
The Zephir Altitude also features durable Dyneema webbing constructed in the leg loops that gives it similar protection to those bulky and heavy harnesses. A click-buckle at the waist lets you quickly put on or take off this harness in critical moments on the mountain. You can adjust the legs to an ideal fit regardless of how many layers you have on, and clips at the legs and backside allow drop-seat functionality. Additionally, the Zephir Altitude can be easily worn under a backpack with a hip belt, making it a highly versatile and dependable piece to have in your gear-quiver. With the two gear loops and attachments for four ice screw carabiners, you can carry the right amount of gear to make your alpine ascent.

Fantastic alpine harness
I’ve used numerous harnesses for Mountaineering and so far this is my favorite. It’s light, easily adjustible, comfortable, and has enough attachments points to carry the essentials.

Very lightweight and comfortable to wear while climbing and scrambling. Not the most comfortable when belaying or repelling, but that's to be expected given the lightweight construction and lack of padding. the leg snaps and waist connector are easy to use and lock securely. I do wish it had a haul loop or additional gear loop. it's a great alpine harness when you won't be hauling a lot of pro, or for glacier travel.

Excellent product for alpine climbing and mountaineering
Have used other light weight harnesses especially BD. While they have served great and fine but needed more security for glacial peaks & mountains like Denali and Rainier. The solid loops to hang carabiners gives that peace of mind. Bottomline - lightest and strongest in the market. Petzel Altitude comes right close but I like Mammut colors as they are visible in whiteout or glacial peaks like Denali, Rainier, 8000m,.

Good alpine harness
Easy to put on without needing to step through the leg loops. Quite comfortable for an alpine harness too. The gear loops are nice and beefy, but it might be nice if the ice clipper slots were a little further away from them. All in all though I really like the harness. My only real issue is that I lost a couple inches on my waistline in training and now the hard point on the waist belt doesn't line up. Need to size down.

More comfortable than other ski harnesses
I bought this originally for rescue in my job as a ski patroller and have found myself bringing it on every ski touring trip where I may need a harness instead of my BD Couloir. While the Mammut does not pack down as small it is more robust and comfortable. The small bit of extra size and weight is negligible in my opinion.

Idea for ski mountaineering
Perfect harness for ski mountaineering. Lightweight, reasonably comfortable (wouldn't want to hang for too long in it), and very easy to get on/off with skis on.

Great touring harness!
I used this climbing Denali in 2022. The harness was very easy to take on and off. The only thing I wish it had was a second set of gear loops along the back.
