Wrong jacket listed
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I ordered one of the blue jackets from this product listing thinking it was a Kento HS, and was only sorely disappointed to receive a Kento Light. There are significant differences between the two jackets… not least of which is that the Light doesn’t have pockets and the materials are completely different. If you pay close attention to the photos in this listing, you’ll notice that three of the colors don’t have pocket… those are Kento Light’s - Backcountry mistakenly has them combined onto one product page. I ordered the jacket as both a graduation gift and a jacket for an upcoming trip. Backcountry support was pretty useless in understanding my issue and wouldn’t give us free expedited shipping for the mistake… so now the special moment is ruined and my wife has to scramble to find a new jacket before a big trip. Sigh. I expected a bit more from BC.

Love this!
I absolutely love this jacket. I use it as a hardshell for all my mountain endeavours. Stays dry when it's raining and the quality is just absolutely divine. I wish I got an XS instead of a S because I do like a tighter fit but the S is good when I have big insulating layers under the jacket. The grape colour is beautiful. For reference, I'm 5'2 and 110lbs

Completely dry
My first time wearing this I took it on a coastal expedition, in December. I stayed completely dry. the fit was feminine but I was still able to layer well underneath, and the hood was ample. Definitely recommend

Was DWR even applied to this jacket?
Wore this out in the rain stoked as could be only to be disappointed that the raindrops made deep convex ... indentations? In the jacket. It looked like it was about to fall apart. I ordered the same one for my partner and his did the same thing. Still works, I guess, but it never beaded and I'm assuming their version of DWR is cheap and unreliable.

So light
I like that the coat is so light and you can store it in its little bag. Great asset to put in a hiking bag. I tested it in light rain. It protects but do not breathe much. I can't wait to try it under a heavy rain.
