Great fit overall. I did make a couple alterations
The fabric is warm while offering plenty of flex and movement. I beat my gear up and these have performed admirably for the first season. I used this primarily for backcountry ski days and did the Grand Traverse in them. I like the side vents as my legs sweat but I cut out the mesh in the middle for better breathabiity. I also removed the suspenders. The waste band straps for tightness are velcro and while they hold decently well, it feels like the waste has stretched out over the season.

Great pair of versatile pants
Super lightweight, waterproof and the versatile. I have used these resort skiing, cold weather hiking and plan to use them touring this season.

Blown away.
I did not buy these for mountaineering. I bought them for downhill skiing. I was not disappointed. The fit, finish and execution is beyond my expectations. A high quality garment I would recommend to anyone desirous of a good fitting, durable and fashionable lower. Whether beginner or expert, you will arrive in style. Order true to size and don't expect to be waterproof. For best performance combine with a wool layer and plenty of stoke.

Best pants I have used
These pants are so versatile. Legs adjust out for ski boots or back in for climbing and hiking. Gators are also adjustable and actually work. Vents are big and functional. Pockets are perfect for use with harness. They keep me dry and warm. Have used them with just a base layer to 20 degrees. Mammut is quickly becoming my favorite brand. Quality is top notch.

Brilliant climbing pant, already recommending these to people
Phenomenal performance once again from Mammut gear. These things are stretchy yet robust, and great to climb in. Surprisingly even in wet conditions, they are super repellent. Definitely a slim fit though, size up unless you like a tight bum

Great fit. Great overall design and quality.
Hope Mammut continues to make this soft shell pant. Used mainly for cold weather rock climbing. Fit is trim and has a lot of stretch.

Best pants around for winter mountaineering
Proof that full on goretex is over-kill. These have kept me dry and warm on drippy ice climbs & wet ski days. Side zips in a softshell are a godsend. Another plus for them being mesh, nothing falls into them. I run quite warm, so they are fantastic for skinning & approaches. Calf cuffs are well thought out. Was very happy with how tight they can be synched down for climbing. I used to wear one pair of pants for climbing, one for skiing - these handle both quite well. https://vpo.ca/topic/VPO.Content.Bottoms.M.Mammut?contentonly=true Study this fit chart and take your measurements. Normally a 35-36 inch waist gives me the room I need for my gigantic ass & thighs. 38 inch waist was perfect for those areas. Unfortunately, they won't stay on my waist without without the suspenders, but that's more of a me issue - not design. Recommend sizing up if you are in doubt

Very waterproof, I have stood under a dripping waterfall and stayed dry while ice climbing. They sacrifice a little warmth for movement but still wind proof and warm enough.
