Why We Like The Impala MIPS Helmet

When it comes to the Savannah, impalas make for some of the quickest and most graceful creatures to call the bush-land home. They have a knack for speed, hairpin turns, and soaring beyond rough terrain, and rowdy predators. Much like its namesake, the Impala MIPS Helmet from Lazer is ready to take to the trail at mach speeds, cook it into banked berms, and turn around and push up hairpin switchbacks, except this time instead of grazing on a meadow of grasses, the Impala MIPS grazes past other climbers, while offering next level ventilation for scorching days. That's because it's built with twenty-two large vents that channel air to your scalp, while an adjustable visor protects you from harsh sunlight. The helmet features polycarobate in-mold construction that absorbs the bulk of impacts, and adds in MIPS technology to help dissipate certain rotational forces. Extended coverage around the ear and back of head give you a little more protection for trail riding, and an Advanced Turnfit System provides 360-degree adjustments — both horizontally and vertically. Because details matter, the Impala MIPS comes equipped with an included camera mount, and plenty of space for goggle parking after a particularly rowdy enduro day.

Finally! I love this helmet!

I purchased the small matte light blue but had previously purchased a medium elsewhere. The medium felt a bit large, but I could have worn either with the adjustment. I liked the smaller profile of the small so am sticking with that. Anyhow, I do not personally feel they run small. I have almost given up seeking a helmet that both looks decent and fits but isn't huge. POC helmets make me look like I have an alien head. I have loved the Bell Super Helmet fit but haven't seen any new colors I like. I am really glad this one fits. I did also order another style Lazer helmet in a "Small/Medium", and it my head looked huge. This fits quite nicely. I also love the color options...so sick of black helmets.

Lightweight and great for mops

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is a nice lightweight helmet that has a very solid construction, the venting keeps me cool and I dont get drippy sweat when its real hot! Its great if you have alot of hair but I would size up, as I am usually a medium in TLD,smith, and giro. I got a medium and its just a bit snug. Still very comfy!

Buying a second one

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Bought this helmet last year because Lazer helmets fit me well. That one also did a great job of protecting my head in a hard crash that caused a grade 3 AC separation. Head hit hard and damaged the helmet. I feel like the helmet worked exactly as I would have hoped/expected. Great helmet!
