I selected the Keen Zionic because I wanted a casual outdoor shoe for the wet PNW fall/winter season. I typically wear an 8.5 to a 9. I went with the 9 and it’s like wearing a clown shoe — I feel like I’m going to trip over my toes with every step. To keep the heel from slipping I would normally lace the shoes using the extra eyelet at the top, but the shoes are built up so high they dig into the top of my foot and are very painful. Also, the laces are too short to accommodate “bunny-ear” lacing. Even with normal lacing there is something that pinches painfully at the upper inner part of my foot when I walk. I’m still investigating the cause but it might be the tongue that is awkwardly folded together and attached at the sides. Despite the fact these shoes obviously do not fit me well, they seem to be well-made and are sturdy and attractive. I would return them but I’ve worn them outdoors three times trying to break them in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have worn Keen shoes for decades. Glad they offer new styles to attract new wearers but I can no longer purchase shoes without first trying them on. That said these looked nice but we're too narrow in the toe area for me. I did find another style of Keen that worked for me though.

A dream with one caveat.

Super comfortable, and absolutely true to size. I'm always a little hesitant to purchase new brands without trying on a pair, but everything I heard about Keens pushed me right over the edge of my hesitancy! The only reason I've got a star off is they're giving me the absolute gnarliest blisters on right where my calves start heading to ankle territory. I totally get that it's because of the material, and that it's historically not a spot that super stiff, hard material normally comes into contact with.

Great fit and support!

I’ve been searching for shoes that fit my narrow heel, wide forefoot feet all summer. These fit the bill and I’m so relieved! The heel feels very secure but the top of the heel is quite rigid and rubs. I bent this piece of fabric a little and it helped take some of the friction off. The only thing I am not as pleased about is that they’re quite warm, even sitting in an air conditioned home. I will be exchanging for the non waterproof version to see if it helps.

Great shoes

These are great shoes. They're comfortable, supportive and tough enough for hiking on trails. The fit is wide enough but no too wide. Plus they look nice.

Feels pretty good so far. No breaking in needed. Only complaint is outside left shoe sole is a bit wider than right shoe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These hiking shoes are comfortable and offer good padding however the material feels a little stiff. Not a fan of this blue and pink combo color, difficult to match clothes. I would prefer it in another color. These shoes also feel a little heavyweight. The bottom soles have good structure and are thick which provide good grip for hiking.
