Great Bib from Helly Hansen
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Well designed & functional-.Bought these bib shells in size medium to replace my insulated ski pants. I am 5’9” 155 lbs. I prefer these over insulated pants b/c I ski hard & run hot. Great mobility & thick (but not too stiff) material. I wore a thin & thick base layer down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit (I usually leaned towards the lighter base layer b/c the pants are windproof. I like my gear a little loose vs tight & these do the job once I got the suspenders adjusted to my torso/height.there is a zipper in the right place (for #1)-and that’s important so you don’t have to take your coat off when nature calls.Cargo pockets on legs function well for light items (such as goggle covers & lift passes). The chest pocket could hold a beacon but I usually just harness the beacon.Got a few props in the lift line (good for style points). Definitely water proof & leg vents (on outside of leg) dump the heat. I would recommend these bib pants to the hard charging, powder hound. Hope this helps.

Really odd fit
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
These fit really tight just below the abdomen. The legs are too baggy, the top is a little too loose. I have average proportions, a little larger legs than average from powerlifting hobby, and these are still too baggy in the legs. Then with the top of the bibs, it is hard to get in a puffy and have it still be comfortable. The fabric seems good and I like the neutral color that works with other gear. Will have to update my review after ski season.

Great finish horrible fit
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
The materials and workmanship on this piece are top notch, what you would expect from HH. The pocket layout is good however, the fit is atrocious. I have had bibs from Spyder, EMS, Marmot and ??? brands and the HH Ridge has the worst fit. It?s akin to wearing an ill- fitting sack. Way to baggy below the waist and tight above. The side-zip entry is also odd and not user friendly. I?m not sure what kind of body would be well suited for these bibs, mine, 5?8? 31 inch waist, 40 inch chest, was not and they were returned.
