Super soft, sleek, minimal
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Immediately out of the box I could tell this was a winner - incredibly smooth, breathable material and overall a very minimal look. I despise loud logos slapped everywhere (giordana, castelli) so was happy the iridescent Gore branding is both subdued and aesthetic on these bibs. Fit was perfect for me, just hoping the minimal straps don't stretch out... Agree with other reviewer that where the front ends does slightly emphasize my tummy but it's not very constrictive so can live with that. Also prefer a shorter inseam but I'm not mad.

Love them, almost perfect

I love these bibs! The chamois is rad, great for long rides. I find the fit to be quite flattering; the fabric is buttery soft, the leg finish is smooth, so it does not constrict my leg and create the dreaded sausage leg. The one thing I would change is that the bib straps are quite flimsy; they're lightweight, laser cut Lycra with soft silicon gripper backing. They're so minimal that it almost makes the bib feel like you're wearing a short. While it's not uncomfortable, I do notice that when I'm riding the way the bib finishes in my mid-section... it kind of cuts in there and creates a bit of a pooch. But the fabric is so forgiving that this is ALMOST not an issue. I do prefer more traditional bibs that finish higher and have more support from the straps. Updating those features (and maybe making the inseam 3" shorter, but I like short stuff) would give it a perfect 5. Truly, the fabric is otherworldly. The iridescent heat transfer does start to crack and fade after only a few washes, but this doesn't bother me too badly.

Thin and flimsy
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
These bibs are very thin and flimsy feeling. They might work great for crit racing or other cycling where you want everything extremely lightweight, and you will not have contact with material that might rub or touch your shorts. I was hoping these would be good long distance ride bibs, that I could occasionally take out on gravel, but they feel like the slightest piece of anything touching them would rip them to pieces. Additionally, the straps are narrow and uncomfortable, even just trying them on. I returned them.

Runs smaller than other Gore shorts

I have a couple of pairs of Gore C5 bibs that fit great, so I thought I'd like the C7 version. I ordered in large, which is the same size I have in the C5. The C7 seemed overall smaller -- legs were tight, waist too low, bibs a little short. The material is very thin, and I was worried I'd poke a hole in it trying to pull them up. The chamois seemed nicer than the C5s. For reference, I'm 5'11'', 150 and wear a large in other brands of shorts too (pearl izumi, giordana). I returned these without using in them.
