Weird Fit for people who wear Size S

I've tried on and returned two jackets and pants from FL. Fit is Weird ASF. Jacket arms and Shoulders are great, but the waist forget it. I'm a size 30, the jacket was so tight, think sausage casing, because I could barely fit it over my pants. The FL pants advertised 30-32 on the waist... No Way was this true, felt more like 28. So, I tried on a size M, waist was perfect! could even rock my impact shorts, however the length was horrible. Felt like a clown or teen at the park Pants bunched up at the bottom. Ugh. The QC on these are horrible. Maybe next year will be better.

I'll echo the sizing issues, they're odd. Be prepared for a return to the days of JNCOs. But that's not the reason for the 1 star review. After a single use they were all slit up on the inside at the bottom on both sides, right thru the reinforced fabric. Didn't fall at all, not sure when they even would have contacted the edge of my definitely not freshly sharpened skis. Probably the balloon sizing contributed? I feel bad for those that paid full price. Hopefully I can return them because I wouldn't think normal wear and tear for ski pants would be to rip from skiing once.

I liked the product for the style, pockets, overall feel. I am 6 ft and 175lbs. Traditional build. This was weirdly snug in the gut without any layering (didn't try with layering). Everything else fit perfect. A perfect person for this would be much thinner than average. I could go up a size but then I assume that all the other areas would be too big. Too bad because everything else was great

Not insulated - more like a shell

While reading the specs I could not figure out if the bibs were insulated or not. They are not. Great quality, but more like a shell. Probably great for backcountry skiing/ skinning and terrain park but not good for groomed runs and freezing when zitting on lifts. Also, probably like most thing you buy; if you are very tall and skinny, XL doesn't not work. XL large are for people that are a bit larger all around. But other than that, they look great and seem to be of great quality.

2022-04-07. Per the size chart, I would fit a medium. 5'7" (168 lbs), 39" chest, 33" waist, and 31" inseam. But in reading some of the reviews, I opted to go with the large due to their comments about the torso area being tight, and the image of the model (the pant legs looks slightly bunched up at the bottom). So I went with the large size that I knew would be too big in the waist (34") and inseam (32"). FYI: The other reviewers are correct, which is why they say the fit is so weird. Per Flylow the measurements in their size chart are to reflect the buyers body measurements. In reading this, I assumed that they would add some room for comfort and layering. Well they sort of did... The legs provided plenty of extra space as some reviewers commented; however, the torso measurements of the garment seem to be pretty much the same as the body, so there is very little to no room for a thicker layer like a sweat top. The large is quite roomy for me, and there is space in both the torso and legs. I was able to wear a base layer, a turtle neck, and a sweat top and it fit snug up top... not very comfortable for me, but I'll never wear a sweat top, so I'm ok. Going up in size made the leg room even larger... probably too much if you do a lot of back country, but ok if you're more a park person. As far as performance goes, the quality and functionality of the Firebird Bib did not disappoint. Seam sealed, and waterproof as advertised. Bottom line, the fit is kind of out of proportion as others have commented. You'll be better off looking for something with more consistent fit between torso and legs. But if your heart is set on the Firebird Bib, then understand how you dress and what you'll be using it for before deciding on size. If this will be purely for the slopes and you don't layer up much (i.e. a thermal base layer and a top), then I'd say go true to the size chart. If you like to layer up with more than 3 layers, or if you'll be using this for other winter activities (sledding, or just playing in deep snow), I'd size up to allow the room for extra layering. The only other notable about sizing up is that the gaiters will naturally be larger in circumference, so if you don't have a heavy duty boot (with girth), the gaiters may not perform as intended. For how I'm going to use these, a medium would have suited me just fine, and would probably have been a better fit. But my true measurements are an inch smaller than the maximum sizes per the size chart. For this reason, I'd say the "fit" of the Firebird Bib run small. If your measurements are at the maximum per the chart, I'd size up.

Great Bib Fit Was Not That Weird

I did not read the reviews prior to purchase and glad I didn't. Maybe I have a weird shaped body, I don't know. I got a large and they fit true to the size chart. Yes, they are pretty baggy in the legs, but become more tapered as you work your way to the shoulders. I do not mind baggy ski wear though. If you want something more slim probably not the product you want. There are velcro straps on the side to tighten the waist if needed. They have great pockets and massive vents down the legs. Color was great and I am excited to get these on the hill. The video of the product is the best depiction.

Bad

NO ROOM AROUND THE MIDSECTION! Length is good, plenty of room for the legs. If you want to wear a sweatshirt underneath your bib, you will have trouble unless you?re a toothpick. Quality of fabric looks good though

fit is weird

I own the Foxy version in women's and they are flattering and functional......so I bought what seemed like the male equivalent. The functionality of these pants is the same and awesome, but the fit is very weird and the pant legs seem like park/snowboard worthy. If you want to ice climb or backcountry ski, the pant legs are too voluminous to fit in gators and are not fitted enough for backcountry skinning.

I'll echo most reviews here, the fit is very strange. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and wear a 35/32 pant and Large slim shrits. The torso on these was snug, definitely not something I'd be comfortable in all day. The bottom half in a Large were huge. These are well designed high end bibs (pockets, buckles, mesh back and fabric are top totch) but the implementation of fitting these to normally shaped humans is way off. I went with the MH Boundary Ridge in a Large.
