Why We Like The Hot Laps Gripper
The Hot Laps Gripper is ideal for holding our essential items for a quick post-work ride up the canyons or the trail systems around town. It works with any of Dakine's larger packs to put more weight on our bike frame and less on our back, and it frees up necessary real estate we might need for longer days.

Returned
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Picture shows the flap way farther down than where the velcro is. Where it actually closes guarantees everything will fall out. I should have read other reviews!

Useless
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
This though be called the slipper. Not only does it not have enough velcro to strap to a smaller diameter tube, but the supposed gripper material does little to know gripping. I think they hay have used anti stick Teflon and butter to make.it. Save your money.

it's good but...
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
...it really needs a strap for the bottom to keep it from spinning sideways. I have 2 bottle cages in my triangle so the best spot for it is under the seat facing forwards. If you cinch the strap hard, it stays put for a bit. But after a bit of riding or a hard landing it can spin and you hear your rear tire eating into it. As far as the ability to hold recovery gear, its great. Holds a tube, 2 CO2 cartridges, a M20 tool and a couple tire levers with no issue. But it NEEDS that bottom strap to be 5 stars!

Not secure on seatpost MTB
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
First ride the bag wiggles out of the strap and was just hanging. Nothing secures the bottom side to the strap. Had it tight as I could strap it. Lost my gear. Would be fine for road riding or light gravel.

Didn?t care for this at first

Almost returned this and then decided to try it out and have ended up being a fan. Definitely throw some frame protector around where the texturized part of touched your bike.

Can mar your frame!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I have three of these in my family. Holding a tube and cartridges it stays on well and I haven?t lost anything. BUT: it created a wear spot on one of my bikes and has marred a carbon frame! Beware!
