Awesome ski pack
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought the 2022 heli pro 20l model and its a solid pack. I skied with it for a full season with more than 40 days at a resort and lots of boot packing with carrying skis on it and so far its holding up really well. The pack stays dry on the inside even after 4 hours of straight skiing in constant snow fall and setting the pack down in the snow while strapping skis to the pack. The pack stays centered and pretty much stays put while skiing so its barely noticeable. The a-frame carry and diagonal carry for skis works well, not sure how well it carries a board. My style of skiing is mostly off piste in the trees, steeps, bowls, chutes, and a little bit of free riding. Pros : Solid material Stays in place Keeps gear dry Carries skis effectively Diagonal carry straps are adjustable to fit a wide range of ski sizes. Cons: The plastic clip on the waist belt is slick and if the securing loops aren't set and pulled tight it can sometimes loosen, which can be a minor annoyance. Not a deal breaker though as the pack still moves with you while skiing and I only notice it when I go to take the pack off. Potential con. The side straps, at least on the 2022 model, on the bottom sides of the pack for carrying skis in the a-frame carry are not adjustable so if you have super fat skis the a-frame carry might not work. I carried skis with a 119mm tail with a little extra room so most skis should fit.
