Not the best
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have several Dakine bags and I've always great luck with them. But . . . . this one is the exception. The reason I bought this bag was because it has a trolley strap in the back so I can the backpack on my carry-on handle when walking through airports. That, it does fine. But nothing else about the bag is great. There are no side pocket water bottle holders. The front pockets DO NOT go all the way down. It's actually quite shallow so you can't put a bunch of stuff there and even when you do, unless you load the main compartment really full at the bottom, the bag will fold in on itself. The other issue with the front compartment is that because it's so shallow when you open the compartment to take out one thing, other things will just fall out. And the last thing is that the small strap that says Dakine on it (on the big strap) ripped first time using it. This is for sure a one off 'cause as I've said before, I haven't had issues with Dakine quality in the past. But it's the design more than anything that just doesn't work for me in this bag. Pros: it's comfortable on your back. It's nicely padded. The trolley strap works.
