Why We Like The Crankbrothers Mallet Enduro Pedals
Crankbrothers capitalized on their success with downhill clipless pedals by designing the Mallet Enduro Pedals. The Mallet E's are constructed on a smaller, lighter platform compared to their burlier DH sibling, with the coated polyurethane surface giving us room to fine-tune the cleat placement. Anticipating the range of weather and trail conditions the pedals will see throughout their lifetime, Crank Brothers added new Enduro cartridge bearings, Igus bushings, and reinforcement in the form of an external seal to maintain debris-free smoothness over time. A mud-shedding, four-sided entry, six adjustable pins, and customizable float and release angles round out this capable new addition to the Mallet family.

Amazing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've used eggbeaters on my gravel bike, but never have been brave enough to go clipless on my mountain bike till now. Wanted to stay in the same cleat ecosystem so I could interchange shoes, and these were a perfect introduction. Felt planted like using flats but still the security of being clipped in. My local trails and bike are more XC/DC leaning, but I don't think I'd change to a slimmer pedal because I like the feel of these so much and they're still very light weight. They were a little stiff to clip in and out of at first, but with some use they loosen up a bit plus I got more used to them. Now I have full confidence in them and am enjoying the clipless experience

Converted SPD User
I have used SPD's for a looong time and have always viewed them as the BEST. I still think they are one of the top pedals out there. I wanted something to change things up a bit and decided to try the Mallets. I really like these and I like how you just order the cleat that best suits your preference on how much float you want. I have very weak ankles due to a skiing accident from years ago and now that age has crept up on me I need as little resistance as possible when trying to unclip. These fit the bill perfectly. I now have a pair on my full squish and pair waiting to be put on my new hardtail build. Long story short, I love these and glad I decided to try them out.

Flats to clippless
Love the control i have with the clippless pedals. Came from flats and won't go back. The workmanship on the pedals seem to be very well made. Not hard to clip in nor is it hard to get unclipped.

Switching from Flats
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Having only gotten into MTB a few years ago and returning from a torn ACL, always felt more comfortable on flats. However, this year I figured I would try the next step in my evolution on buy some clips. Had heard good things about the CB system and so far so good - extremely easy to clip in and (with most things) a slight learning curve to get out quickly. Bottom line is that I can get up hills with greater ease and don?t fatigue like I would in the past - being able to truly pull the pedal around is a big deal. If you are on the fence or thinking of making the jump to clips, I encourage you to do it with these pedals.
