Newton Ridge Plus II Suede WP Wide Hiking Boot
When choosing a hiking boot, it can be challenging to decide between a stable boot with ample protection and a lightweight boot that's comfortable to wear for miles on end. Columbia strikes a balance between the two with this updated version of the Newton Ridge Plus II Boot, which features a waterproof construction and high ankle coverage while keeping efficiency in mind. Columbia’s Techlite midsole technology offers superior cushioning in a lightweight package, with a priority in energy return. As the midsole compresses with each step, it rebounds the heel of the shoe as you push off the ground which propels you into your next stride. Meanwhile, the fully seam-sealed construction encourages you to venture off the beaten path without worrying about getting your socks wet.

Almost Perfect
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought these primarily for some light hiking and activities in wetter conditions. So far I have been pleasantly surprised with these rather affordable boots. The overall fit is good, I normally wear a size 12 and found that to be an appropriate size with these shoes. Enough room for some thicker socks, which I would recommend. The only complaint I have is that around the ankle it can feel like the shoe is almost pinching if the socks don?t create enough of a buffer. All around a purchase I am happy with.
