Why We Like The Free Unlimited Bib Short
We like to work ourselves hard on our rides, but that doesn't mean we don't value comfort as well. Rather than subjecting ourselves to an irritating kit, we opt for the Free Unlimited Bib Short from Castelli. With Unlimited Lycra fabric and the Progetto X2 seat pad, we're provided with a stretchy feel that moves with us while we pedal and plushy support that lasts for however many miles we're chasing. It's ideal for gravel riding and for getting off the pavement to chase whatever's down the beaten path.

Does the job, runs small
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Coming from a size small in other Castelli bibs, this one was a squeeze to get into. But once on, it's nicely compressive. The chamois is nicely padded and felt comfortable for the 4 hour rides I've taken it on. The hip panels protected from abrasion as advertised when I had a minor wreck. The pockets are nice and fit a decent amount of items. Deducted one star for the size discrepancy from other Castelli bibs and for some rough seams. At this price point, I expect the finish to be better.

Small sizing even for Castelli!
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Ordered these Castelli bibs in XL and they were at least one, maybe two sizes too small! I have worn Castelli bibs in XL for almost 10 years. I typically wear L in US-made cycling gear, XL in Euro-made gear. Just bought a pair of Assos bib shorts in XL and they fit fine (I could have fit into the L). I have not changed shape or size for several years. Also did not like the feel of the protection panels, it is stiffer than lycra, feels like plastic.
