Why We Like The Competizione Limited Edition Bib Short

With the Competizione Bib Shorts, pro-level Castelli quality need not come at a pro-level price tag. The Competizione features much of the same technology as their higher-end offerings, like a KISS Air2 insert and Giro4 leg grippers, making it comfortable for long and short rides alike. The main panels use Castelli’s Vortex fabric for optimal breathability and comfort, while the bibs are a more open mesh to ventilate well beneath a jersey. Castelli uses a tighter Lycra for better compression, stretch, and rebound, where there’s more movement when pedaling. The KISS Air2 insert’s perforated padding and seamless upper keeps cool air moving through the short to ensure your comfort on the bike.

Nice bib, however the straps are to tight over the shoulders.

Great pair of bibs

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Love the fit of these bibs. Chamois is very comfortable and provides just the right amount of cushioning. Leg grippers work great. The color combination looks great.

Poor fit

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Buying bibs that fit well is tough. I am 155lbs & 5'11", skinny runner build. Med is too short, but Lrg is too loose at the leg grippers. It is a great bib otherwise.

Fits very small in height

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Good quality bib with secure padding in the right places, but I’m pretty average height at 5’8” and the size L barely fits me. It has more than enough room around the middle, but the length of the suspender part is much too short. Be sure and order at least one size up, or two if you have a longer torso.

I returned this product before using it

Just received the bib shorts and tried them on. Ouch. Either I got taller and added some weight in the past week or these bibs are small. Figured out the bibs run small. The straps were pulling down on my shoulders (trapezius muscle) as well. Not a comfortable feeling. I'm 5'10", 150 lbs. with 30/31" waist. Do not order mediums! Get a pair of Large instead.

Competizione bibs are a great product!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These bibs are are great - I have them in a couple of different colors for kit options. They may fall in line near the entry level side of the Castelli bib offerings, but they are reliable and just like other Castelli products, they are well constructed, and are super comfortable.

Inseam is too small

I bought my normal size large (I am 5'10", 150lb). They are very nice shorts. However.... be aware that the inseam length is much shorter than other Castelli bibs I have used. I am returning them because they are so short. The Free Aero RC is much longer and I would recommend that bib 100%.

Fits me well. I recommend it.

Familiarity:

So as to help out others: I am 5'11" 190 lbs with average build (you get what you get genetics-wise!) with slightly bigger thighs than the average build. The XXL (yes, a double-X-L) fits me well. An XL would have been too tight to reasonably wear. The fit is tight enough but not too tight. Leg and strap length fits me well. I intend to use this indoors so the thin material is appropriate and what I prefer. Pad more than sufficient for 30-45 minutes of cycling.
