The Blue Ice Blackbird Ice Axe is a classic piolet that provides consistent reliability for beginning mountaineers. Nice basic mountaineering axe

Got this for non-technical mountaineering. Reasonably light, fits well on my pack, and I appreciate that it comes with pick, adze and spike protectors.
