Why We Like The Print Hood Balaclava
When a simple beanie just isn't quite cutting it we pull on the Black Strap Print Hood Balaclava. This slim balaclava slips under our headgear of choice to provide coverage from the wind and the sun depending on the season. Additionally, the moisture wicking material prevents freezing when we are skiing or snowboarding in a storm.

Excellent, Comfortable Wind Protection
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Used this balaclava for the first time in blowing snow yesterday. Quite warm and manages moisture exceptionally well. The ' hinge' allows one to move the face shield comfortably out of the way when not needed. I just purchased one in the heavier fabric.

Do Not Recommend

I am a 5'7" athletic female and bought this to try out snowboarding. It has a few issues - first off, it runs huge. It didn't really fit and I (think) I have a normal sized head for a woman. Second of all, it started pulling(?) after one use. The pulling is like the fabric on the inside is coming through in little loops to the outside, which is problematic because I got it in the Safari Sunset pattern which is dark, and the inner lining is white, so it shows up very prominently. At the end of the day, unless you're someone with a big head, I would not recommend this product.

Sooo cute! Hasn't froze either!
- Familiarity:

Makes me feel girly on the mountain, which can be hard to do sometime! The material is soft and fairly thin. Its thick enough to keep my face warm but doesn't get wet and icy like other face shields I have had. Definitely worth it

A great balaclava

Blackstrap makes the best balaclavas on the market. Very versatile and customizable for maximum comfort. You can easily tuck the hood in neck tube if it gets too hot. The material is soft and offers SPF protection from the suns rays. Just the best!

Covers all the bases!

I love how versatile BlackStrap's Balaclava hoods are! I have zero problem with the hood moving around when I move the face fabric up over my nose or pull it down under my chin. The fabric is super breathable which is awesome when going up the skin track, but still provides plenty of wind protection for the ears on the way down. The patterns keep things interesting, but I also appreciate that they have solid colors as well. #BackcountryGearhead

Decent product, but not perfect

Good fit, keeps your head and face warm. Area around mouth and nose gets moist, but dries fairly fast. Neck area is a bit too narrow.

The best

This is by far the best mask on the market. The material is very breathable, moisture wicking, and keeps your face nice and warm. A complete game changer! I will never ride without it. All other masks from different companies are incomparably worse, no question.
