Why We Like The Traverse 3 Ski Poles
Meticulously designed for the splitboarder that explores deep into the heart of the mountains, the Traverse 3 Poles are packed with uphill-specific features. Among the highlights are the grips that feature an oversized lip at the top to help us easily adjust our bindings on the go. The poles pack down super small for the descent, yet still feature an extended rubber grip for choking up on the poles while side-hilling or navigating tricky kick-turns.

Almost there
Ski poles are to be used for all BC and lift skiing, then transitioned for trail hiking. I leave the baskets on and don't mind occasional brush snags because the baskets prevent catastrophic plunge into the interstices of rocks. The issue is Black Diamond tip protectors (trail protectors) do not fit on ski pole shafts. Solution --> 1/4" ID PEX tubing. The PEX expands just enough to very snugly conform to shaft at tip. Black Diamond hiking pole tip protectors press tightly over the PEX until the carbide tip locates and a smear of E-6000 glue ensures non-separation. How long a cut of PEX? 1 1/8 ".

Rugged, easy to use
Adjusting the length is easy yet still durable. I like the rubberized shaft as well.

Great all-around pole
I recently purchased the Traverse 3 poles to replace a different set of Black Diamond poles I unfortunately lost, and I am loving them! I mainly use these for splitboarding and love how small they collapse and how light weight they are!

Traverser 3 Review
Having taken the Traverse 3 Poles into the backcountry, as well as using them in the front country, I am pleased with how easy they are to assemble/disassemble and their durability. As a splitboarder you will need to have a large bag to put them in, even when fully collapsed (I have a 40L pack and they barely fit), since they are telescoping rather than folding. All in all, great poles!

Good product
The sticks are really good, the clippers are very good and durable. Being able to enlarge the poles with two sections allows you to have a large pole size

Solid
I was trying to figure out the difference between these and the expedition. The only real difference is the grip. These have two rubber grips with metal in between. The expeditions have one long foam handle. Just fyi. User preference. These are probably fine.

Traverse ski poles
Great Ski poles. Love the length adjustment. The locking mechanism is strong enough to never have any slippage while in use.

Great product
Great poles, super durable and light weight. Pack down super small too. Attachment system for the snow cape is a bit confusing but overall a really great product.
