Snow Saw Pro
The Black Diamond Saw Pro is an essential component of any avalanche geek's snow study kit. The Snow Saw Pro is light and compact, so you won't be tempted to leave it out of your pack, and it has a serrated stainless steel blade that will slice through everything from melt-freeze crusts to small trees and limbs in a rescue scenario. The saw folds onto itself for easy and safe storage, and attaches to most adjustable Black Diamond ski poles via the three included connection pegs. A 30cm mark on the blade allows you to quickly isolate columns for compression and extended column tests.

Solid snow saw
Really great how it folds into the handle instead of a separate sheath. Handle rotates and locks at several angles making it easy to use.

Feels solid!
Little bit of play in the blade/handle interface, but not much. locking mechanism feels super solid, as does handle/sheath. big button, easy to press with gloves.

Sharp, durable, light weight
Excellent addition to my backcountry pack. This blade is razor sharp and light weight. I have yet to try the pole attachments yet

Great saw used in the baker back country
It had all the versatility I needed and was at the right price point. Highly recommend .

I’d say the best feature of this saw is the folding action. The blade is easy to stash in a backpack when folded without concern for an exposed blade cutting other items. The easy attachment to a BD trekking pole is excellent for extending the saw for ECTs or long cuts. Very easy and quite stable for an extension. A couple detractors: the position locking button for saw sticks out and easily gets jammed with snow and ice if cutting deeper than the blade, like when cutting ECT columns, and the blade flexes a bit more than desired. Slower, more careful cutting can give a straighter cut with this blade.

Nice Saw - Icing Issues on mechanism
I have quite a few snow saws as I run an Avalanche Education Program and and Avalanche Forecast Center. I have a 100cm Brooks Range Saw that I wanted to replace to lighten my load. This saw was to fit that bill. The saw works great and attached to my adjustable poles nicely; however, the folding mechanism tends to fill with snow and ice and freeze up. I can usually fix this by blowing hot air in the joint area or pooring a hot liquid. This more annoying than anything else as it can take up to a few minutes before I can collapse.

Good Saw
Great saw for snow, nothing else. Too flimsy for even the smallest of branches from fallen trees.

Good blade, locks at 90 deg to saw back side of block, stows nicely inside of handle

Ingenious design that works with most poles
While I haven't used this much, I really like the idea of being able to use a pole to extend the saw. I imagine this will make cutting cornices and other weirdness much easier. Works great with the Traverse WR2 and WR3 poles.
