Why We Like The Element Hooded Jacket
When we first got the Black Diamond Element Hooded Jacket we never thought we would use it as much as we have. This water-resistant jacket thrives at the crag when it is chilly, performs well during warmer backcountry tours, and can even work as a midlayer under our favorite shell for resort days.

Initial Review - very happy
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I got this jacket about one month ago, so I havent had a whole lot of situations to test it out. However, so far I am extremely happy. The fit is perfect. The quality seems really flexible and durable. I'm 5'9" approx 165-170lbs.

Great jacket
This is my fourth softshell jacket, so I am pretty familiar with this style of jacket. I bought this one because none of my others had a hood. This is the lightest softshell I have owned. It feels like a sweatshirt. I would rate my other softshells for use down to about 35 degrees and this one down to about 45 degrees, of course all depending on what layers you wear underneath. Overall a great jacket, just not as warm as I was hoping. Jacket fits great and seems really well made.
