relaxed fit
The stretchy fabric makes them comfortable, and once you got the size right, they fit perfectly as a relaxed pair of jeans. (I usually got size 28 in jeans and down sized to 26 in theses) The Light Indigo wash is more light blue, not as the gray-ish tone as shown in picture. Still beautiful. The only thing is that the inside was a bit rough. Otherwise I would keep them.

Same Size, Different Fit
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I ordered two pairs of these jeans: the light wash and the bayou wash. The light wash is a perfect fit, but the bayou wash pair is insanely big! I have tried to sew them and shrink them, but nothing has worked. They are big everywhere! I have no idea how two of the same pair of jeans in the same size, but different colors could be so different.

Weird Fit
- Familiarity:

Unfortunately, I think these pants would be better suited for a different body type! I've bought a lot of shirts from this brand (as well as the Stoic and Backcountry brands), and I've always worn the same shirt size as the models in the photos. I assumed pants would be the same, so I ordered a size 26 like both models are wearing. Man.... wrong! Way too big in the waist. I exchanged these for the smallest size, a size 25, and the waist is still huge on me! I would say the hips and butt are a comfortable fit for a size 25, but due to how baggy the waist is, I can't wear these and I can't imagine anyone else with my measurements wearing these comfortably either. As a plus, the color was exactly what I expected and the material felt quality. Just wish the sizing wasn't so far off or that they offered additional smaller sizes... although then my concern would be that my hips/butt wouldn't fit but the waist would. Siiiigh.

Just as Expected

I got the ridge/dark wash & they look just as they do in the picture (the ones that are cropped & rolled at the bottom with a tiny amount of flare). They are very high waisted, the pockets on the butt are big enough (I hate when there are small butt pockets which makes my butt look unnecessarily larger than it is). They're quite comfortable, good quality. I have muscular quads and glutes & these are not too tight in those areas nor at they too large at the waist which is a common problem for hourglass shapes.

Better suited to a different body type

I really wanted to like these but the fit and fabric just wasn't right for me. I ordered a 31 (typically wear 29-30 in Madewell denim). The hip and quads are too tight and like the other reviewer said the calves are quite large. On my body type, a skinny fit through the hip/quads with a boyfriend fit through the calves. They would be better suited to someone without an hourglass shape. The denim also isn't what I typically go for. I usually tend to like soft and stretchy or a more substantial rigid denim that breaks in over time. These seem to be a stiff thinner stretch denim (River/Light Wash) that I don't find particularly comfortable due to the cut. If you had a baggier fit through the quads, I think the material would be fine.

Perfect relaxed fitting jeans

I LOVE these pants. They do fit a bit wider than I expected (wider legs/calfs) , but I still am a fan. They are extremely comfortable, soft, and look awesome. I was unsure of sizing, but these fit so well that I guess I made the right choice. I do love the stretchy relaxed fit that comes without the sweatpants looseness. They are short (intentionally) which I don't always love being 5'10", but I knew they were supposed to be "ankle length" when I bought them, so no surprise here. There are probably my new favorite (short) jeans.
