Great Goretex Pro bib option.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This will be a joint review for the Cardiac Bib and Jacket. Goretex pro is hard to beat, especially at the deals these can be had for, however, as others have mentioned: sizing is a bit weird. I ordered both the L and XL sizes so i could determine best fit, and at 5'10" 215lb ended up in the XL for room in the shoulders/chest in both Bib and jacket. This causes both to feel a bit long otherwise, but this provides plenty of room to layer. The build quality is great, attention to detail has been paid in taping all the seems, zipper choices, to keep things waterproof etc. I've used this gear on resort and during touring and am able to regulate temps nicely with the venting provided, though i've caught a bunch of snow through the vents due to a lack of mesh. In general i'd recommend this as a great budget friendly option, with better than budget performance.

Take pride in your BRAND

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I thought these bibs would be extremely worth the price. The only thing they have going for them is the goretex. Yes my rear end has never been more dry. The key set backs are that the side zip is very difficult to get use to. The front zip to relieve ones' self sucks; you cant even get your hand through it and I am most disappointed with the BC goat logo. Half the circle around the goat tore off with in a couple weeks of wearing them. For the price I paid, I expect the branding logo to be more solid. But as I said the goretex keeps you dry. Definitely not recommended for inbounds use or at all for that matter.

Fits a little large, Fly too high

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Initial impressions after 2 days of resort use in wind and snow. I great protection from wind and snow, and good flexibility. I ordered a large, and I am squarely between M and L sizes, but always go a little bigger to accommodate layers. I found this fits just a little larger than I need/am used to, but its ok. My only complaint is that the fly is way too high and small, making relieving oneself in the woods a two handed, gloves off process, not very pleasant when it is snowing hard. However, I'm keeping it. You can't really beat the quality of materials for the price.

Awkward fit

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Bibs run REAL snug up the crotch area. I ordered a medium and a large and they both for the same around the crotch. Also, the crotch zipper length is incredibly small? I would imagine this being a problem for practical use. I?m 5?9 around 170lbs, I wear size 30 pants and mediums in everything else, and they usually fit fine but not these unfortunately. However, the material feels very high quality. Backcountry just needs to improve the design and functionality because it?s definitely off. Lastly, for anyone wondering, the color is more of a sweet potato or a pumpkin pie color. Not vibrant, just more of a fall tone.

Unreal Bibs

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've used these bibs with the matching cardiac jacket now on the resort and on a big backcountry day, and could not be happier with the purchase, the massive vents for dumping heat are perfection on the uphill. The weight is great and the fit is perfect for me. So comfortable. Love the beacon pocket's functionality. Only thing I would change/wish it had is one more pocket on the right side to match the beacon pocket. I don't like having my phone in the same pocket as my beacon, and on the uphill when I'm just wearing the bib with no jacket I wish I had a better spot for it (as the two leg pockets have my liners/mittens and a beanie, which they fit great... LOVE the massive pockets). I wanted to knock a star off for this but couldn't because everything else about them is too perfect.

The only touring bib you should buy

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have been touring/skiing with the cottonwoods bib and without a doubt can say the Cardiac bib was the best thing that happened to my kit. The description from backcountry on why they made these bibs are everything I love about them. These are not made for the resort even though they will still crush som inbounds corduroy. The lack of mesh does not bother me since it keeps the movement up and the weight down. Absolutely a better bib than the popular name brands. The pictures on the website do them no justice. Plenty of movement both up and down, I will say that I wear a Medium in almost every pant but went with a Large in this bib and the fit is perfect. I would have recommended adding the snap and expansion to the legs to support walking movement more than they already offer. Hands down the best part of my backcountry gear aside from a beacon.

Vents have no mesh

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

The vents of this product are wide open to your legs. A gore tex layer with no mesh that prevents some snow from entering just doesn't make much sense; essentially there are no useable vents. I am returning the product.

Good product but not insulated

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

These bibs would have been fine for us if I knew that they weren't insulated. I wrongly assumed snow bibs would be insulated and the description wasn't clear enough. Returning to get insulated bibs.

Really solid

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I?m can?t relate to what the other reviewers are saying about the way these fit. I?m 5?9?, 175lbs, and have a 30? waist and the mediums fit like a glove (maybe slightly long? Extremely minor point). The gore-tex pro fabric is stretchy so any tightness you might experience is easily remedied by that. Even when tightened all the way the crotch seam doesn?t ride up or anything. The construction is solid, too, I just wish they had a few more pockets. I recommend you give them a try.

Solid Build but weird fit

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I am 5'10", 175lbs, 33" pants, 39" chest, 30" inseam. I ordered a medium. The length was great. Plenty of room in lower legs for boots. the problem was in the hips, butt upper thigh area and torso. I do not have huge thighs and do not have much of a butt either. I don't have chicken legs either though. With just a base layer on the bibs are stretched fairly tight when crouching. With the bibs properly pulled up there was not a lot of restriction of movement in the crotch or from the bibs being tight. However I have serious concerns about the durability of seams that will regularly be stretched in this manner. I do not want to spend good money on a product with solid materials that will fail due to strange fit and excessive wear at the seams. Every wader I have had fail has failed for the same reason. The torso is also too tight to layer a mid layer under. If your base and mid layer do not fit in you bibs then you may as well be wearing pants. Wet mid layers do not insulate at well as dry ones. I have a semi athletic build. I'm not super cut but nor have I embraced the dad bod. A size large might have solved the problem but I couldn't get enough info to verify if that would fix the upper thigh tightness or just the tightness in the torso/waist. if your 5'9" to 6' and 155lbs max and buy a medium I would not worry about undue stress on the seams and these are a killer bib at a great price.
